Without a doubt. When he was rumored to have been offered $2.1 million, I said then that OU should not go any higher to get him under any circumstances. If the $2.5 mil is correct, he would be foolish to go anywhere, and OU would be foolish to try to beat it.

Time to move on, folks!

Going into the tourney he was 20-15 and finished 11th in the big east, wins 2 games in tourney then gets run by NC and he goes from $1.1 mill to $2.5 mill.

I found that to be a pretty decent article actually. Nothing new is in it. It says that OU won't getting into a bidding war for Buzz (and we shouldn't), that Rose and Kruger are names that have been throwing around. That he thinks Rose isn't a good fit and probably won't be hired. His sense is a decision is made this week. Finally, he said that his sources aren't very good (which is something I probably wouldn't admit if my job was to have reliable sources).

Good for Buzz. Good for Marquette? Dunno. For 2 mil you can land an awfully good coach that would fit well and build a solid foundation.

I like the direction that it seems Joe is looking. I would think in these situations, though we as fans think in terms of Plan 1, 2, 3, etc, that the AD is thinking Plan 1A, 1B, 1C... with a few guys on your mind that would each be a good fit in different ways. You pursue them as far as is wise and pull the trigger on the one that comes together. I have a good deal of faith that the hire will be a solid if not sexy one.

Looking forward to having the search behind us and moving on with the new skipper.
