Blake Griffin is close to breaking out

As for the supporting cast, this ESPN article supports what everyone is saying...

They would be foolish to blow that roster up. Change it? Sure. But blow it up? Stupid. There are no moves they can make, most likely, that would a) make them better next year, or b) guarantee they'll field a better team in the future.

They could use a veteran guy like a Pierce, and/or maybe an upgrade at SG.

Depends on what you mean by blow up.

Your core of Blake, CP3, and Jordan are good enough to win big. Everyone else on the roster is at best expendable, and everyone on the bench I'd argue you need to affirmatively upgrade. No idea how they're cap situation is going to play out, but they have to completely overhaul their bench.

Maybe but not likely. The end of the first half yesterday was the perfect example. They had cut it to 6 and in the final minute when both Paul and Blake missed bunnies in the paint. They end up down 10. Numerous lazy turnovers. Talented but lose focus and make silly mistakes far too often.

Just like last year they should have beat the Thunder and Paul totally chokes it away by jumping in the air in the backcourt and throwing the ball away. It's not like he's young. He's on the backside of his career.

Deondre needs to learn how to shoot free throws in a competent manner. Perhaps it won't happen soon, if ever, but it is something he needs to emphasize just like Blake did.

Jordan becomes an unrestricted free agent in July, and no doubt the Clippers will have to give him a max contract if they want to keep him. I have no idea where that will leave them on the cap but I'm guessing having Paul, Griffin, and Jordan all signed to big contracts doesn't leave them much room to sign anyone else. They need to upgrade at the small forward spot in my opinion in addition to overhauling their bench.

It's interesting that Jordan and Paul were reportedly at odds during the season, so anything may happen. Jordan and Paul "falling out"

IF true, this would be the second of the big 3 to get into it with Paul. It happened last year reportedly when Blake stepped up to him in the locker room when Paul wanted to control everything. What changed that? Blake putting the team on his shoulders while Paul was out.

I am starting to think Paul likes to point fingers when things go wrong.

The ageless Tim Duncan is still 3rd team after all these years. Amazing.

I don't have a problem with LeBron and Anthony Davis on 1st team, nor do I have issues with Aldridge or Cousins on the 2nd team (think he's an unknown superstar)..... either set getting picked over Blake has merit. Curry and Harden are good guard choices. I'm surprised at the Gasol brothers as 1st and 2nd team centers. They're OK offensively, but not real strong rebounders. I might prefer Dwight Howard when he's healthy or the beast DeAndre Jordan.

I think Doc tried to get Pierce but he chose the Wizards. Not sure. But yeah Hawes was a big whiff. And Dudley has proven to not have what it takes.

they gave the mid level to hawes ... offered pierce vet min .... pierce wanted to go to LA .. but not for pennies ..

The Clippers need a roster "makeover". Barnes can play some defense but is a shaky starter. He has a year guaranteed and I think an option for another year. Big Baby should be gone as should Turkoglu and Dahntay Jones from that awful bench. Hawes they're stuck with for another 3 years unless they unload him somewhere. Jamal Crawford is past his prime. If his shots don't fall he's a liability on defense. Austin Rivers is the only bench player worth keeping and he's just a so-so shooter, but Barnes would be an OK bench player. They also don't have a backup PG for CP3.

They need to get younger.
