Is absolutely dreadful. This is a league that is usually defined by its depth, but the bottom has dropped out on a lot of programs. K-state, Texas, okie state, isu are just bad teams.

Yep. Nothing to argue with here at this point.

There are two teams I can't figure out.....that would be TCU and Tech. TCU is beating up on them as we speak (up 13 with under 8 minutes left). I have only seen bits and pieces of Tech. But I can testify that Tech's offense is borderline atrocious. The have a lot of ball movement and do quite a bit of cutting, but it is not pretty and far from fluid. Their defense is still really good and active, but they aren't big at all. TCU is hammering them on the boards.

TCU got spanked in their last two games when they stepped up in competition, but they look better tonight.....yet I don't think they are any better than 6th in this league.

I think the rush to pronounce this team or that one as "bad" doesn't serve anyone. ISU, oswho and KSU are all within a few spot of each other in the rankings (right around 80, give or take) and texas is at 66. There's a bit more space between the four teams on Kenpom (ISU is ranked highest at 63) but they're still all in the top 90.

Not great, obviously, but every one of those teams can jump up and bite a better team on a good night. ISU has already done so (to our chagrin), oswho gave KU all they wanted, and I'll be thrilled to get out of Manhattan with a one-point win, if we can.

We are now officially 1/3 of the way through conference season. I think we are getting a better picture of who teams are. Dreadful might be a little strong to describe the bottom half of the league. However compared to the last several years, the bottom 3 or 4 teams don't strike near as much fear as they have recently. And sure, if you don't come to play.....then you could certainly drop a game. See OU/ISU.....but I think that game was more of a product of OU not coming out with the energy needed on the road rather than ISU being a good/decent team. And yes, you need to come to play every night.

As a comparison, the Big 12 will likely get no more than 5 teams in the tournament this year....with a miniscule chance of 6. Whereas the last several seasons, getting in 6 teams was an absolute lock. The conference isn't "down" at the top.....but it certainly is at the bottom.

Tcu beat tt....they are 13/5 4/2...

Tt 12/6 3/3...

Isu 9/9 2/4
Osu 9/9 0/6
Ut 12/6 2/4

Ksu 8/10 1/5
OU 12/6 3/3

Course top...
Bu 6/0
Wv 5/1
Ku 5/1

The lack of really good teams top to bottom might be the thing that gets us in the tourney this year. I see us as a middle of the pack (in big 12) kind of team. Most years OU wasn't going to win on the road, and we sure to lose at least a couple at home. This year, I could see us winning 3-4 on the road (we already have one win). So, even if we lose a couple three at home, we might still be able to finish with 9 wins in conference and make the tournament.
