I heard this guy on 810 WHB in KC today. Last year, 67 of the 68 he projected were in the tourney and 63 of the 68 he either correctly predicted their seed or was one line off.

Anyway, he has us as a 6 seed in the midwest playing Xavier in the first round in Milwaukee. If we win, we play the Michigan/Delaware winner.

Also of note, he has 7 Big 12 teams in the tourney.

That guy has KU, ISU, Texas, OU, KSU, Baylor and OSU in the tournament in. He has WVU getting consideration.

The odd thing is that people keep seeding Texas higher than OU. OU needs to win on Saturday and close the season strong to put an end to that debate.

While we beat texas, since then texas has beaten Kansas, and has a better conference record than us. If we beat them again and finish higher in conference we will more than likely get a better seed then them

Keep in mind to, that isn't a projection for the end of the year, it's a "if the tournament started today" bracket.

Gotta think one of those Big 12 teams falls out between now and the end. Probably OSU and/or Baylor. A lot of important games left to decide postseason.

He didn't address OSU and Baylor specifically, but the hosts of the show asked about Mizzou and he said right now he doesn't have them in, but if they win a few games it would be impossible to keep them out. He said their resume isn't overly impressive, just the win over UCLA, but the way he talked it's going to be tough to find 68 teams this year because so many have been so-so. Notice 2 of his play-in teams are from the Big 10. The way he talked one of those would fall from the tourney before other conferences. He said the Big 12 is easily the toughest conference this year.

Basically, barring a complete collapse by OSU and Baylor they are probably both in. That's how I took it at.

If you want a composite of all of the bracketologists and where they have us seeded....go to this site: www.bracketmatrix.com

We are pretty much a 6 or 7 seed in most brackets right now.

Why is that odd? They have a better profile right now.

Michigan in 2nd round would be great, it seems McGary won't be back this year

Because OU beat Texas in Austin and the only notable difference in the records is an upset over KU. I also expect OU to win on Saturday.
They've also got a win at a currently ranked North Carolina, which easily trumps anything we did OOC (unfortunately, that portion of our slate turned out to be very average on a good day). All the teams OU played then either beat us, or have turned out to be quite mediocre.

And head-to-head results are rarely, if ever, taken into much consideration during the process. The exceptions would be deciding between two bubble teams just to make the tournament and maybe determining a 1-seed between 2 pretty equal teams. Other than that, head to head means little to nothing. But if finish above Texas in the standings, that would carry a little more weight in getting a better seeding.

Jerry Palm bumped us up to a 5 seed with all the top 25 losses. If we win tomorrow, we're a solid 5 seed with a chance to elevate to a 4.
