Bubble Watch

Looking at Miami oh schedule, they better win their tournament or they may be left out. That is the worst schedule I’ve ever seen. Not even a single p4 team. 0 quad 1 games and only 2 quad 2 games.

They have 2 games that look like exhibition teams during middle of season. Their opponents don’t even have an icon by their names on espn.
Man i don't know...i think they should be afforded a loss. Even against bad competition, not having an off night is great. Give them a chance in the dance to prove it.

I don't think we would be undefeated even with that schedule

31-1 Miami isn't getting left out if Akron wins the Mac. Miami would be in Dayton in the play in. If some lower seed wins the mac then you have to consider it.

Boise State losing to San Jose lastnight hurts us, boise was good enough to possibly knock off new mexico today.
Wait, are we looking at being in the stupid play-in games?

or we could have just beat a good team at home....like bama or arkansas
or maybe even a bad team at home...like texas...
which win/wins on our schedule would you say we overperformed?
Absolutely. There are tons of reasons why we are still on the outside of a soft bubble. Our resume had, quite literally, nothing good on it till the final month of the season.

Win today and there's a possibility just because as of right now the bubble sucks. Beat Arkansas tomorrow and you shouldn't be.
The play-in games are dumb. And I don't want porter claiming credit for a tourney berth if its a friggin play-in game and we lose

Miami OH on the ropes....down 2 with 9.9 seconds left. UMASS shooting 2.

Eliminate the losses to AZ State, Miss. State, and South Carolina, and we are in a much better position. But also, replace several of the NET 300 games with games against teams in the 150ish range, and we are also in a much better position, even with the aforementioned losses.
We'd be a lock and probably a 9 seed no matter what happened today -- we'd have 3 more WAB (we'd replace the lost WAB with positive WAB for a net gain of 1).

If we beat a 150 instead of a 350, we'd have about 0.1 WAB extra per win. Arkansas got 0.1 WAB for beating Central Arkansas (ranked 145) and we got 0.01 WAB for beating St. Francis. If we'd played 3 or 4 of them, we would have a resume closer to Texas in terms of WAB. We'd be in the First Four with that resume (and we'd fall out likely with a loss today).

In sum, we'd be in a marginally better position -- but significant in terms of where we are on the bubble right now -- with the better non-con. We'd be in a much better position had we just won those three games.

UMASS wins....and a Frank Martin sighting. I had no idea he was at UMASS.
I always forget that he's there.

I think that sound I just heard was a bubble bursting. I haven't been on the Miami bandwagon like some of our posters, but it seems like most of the talk has had them in since they finished the regular season.
