Bubble Watch

OU has never played this well late in the season in years they were projected to miss the Dance prior to the conference tourney. In 1997 and 1998 we played our way into the Dance by winning 2 and 3 games respectfully, but we weren't on fire during the end of the regular season like this year.
I think the excitement this team is creating has saved Porter Moser’s job. Yes, even if OU is left out of the dance again.

I have a feeling our new AD may have been looking for a reason to keep PM, and he found it in spades! Anyone who doesn’t believe me hasn’t been on the Insider board lately! The “fire” you described has generated a firestorm of support for Porter and his team I wouldn’t have thought possible a few weeks ago. Check it out! If OU wins tonight’s game, the majority of the posters on that board will be for giving Moser and his staff a bonus, You can forget about firing him!

If we don’t make the tourney, or make it and lose in the first round, the excitement you speak of will be immediately extinguished. We had a high lottery pick last year and made the tourney, and it had absolutely no carryover effect. The LNC was still empty when this season rolled around because (a) he scheduled a bunch of crap teams, and (b) people aren’t going to be excited when the best result the coach has produced is a first round exit after having to claw his way into the tourney with three late wins.

Because Texas has 6 quad 1 wins and a 42 ranking in the NET. We have 4 and a 47 ranking. If we win tonight, I don't think we kick Texas out. Someone else will fall out. Auburn, SMU, VCU, etc.

overall record 17-12 and 1-4 against quad 2 opponents looks bad. How big of difference is a NET 42 to 47 really? I don't like whole integer rankings, as it could artificially spread teams out that are really bunched tightly together.

Point taken -- Evan Miya and Bart Torvik like OU a lot better than Texas. Ken Pom likes Texas. Splitting hairs honestly. If we win tonight, I think we create some separation. We'll pass them in the NET and Ken Pom and have a lead in every metric.

I heard Dalen Cuff say on radio they need to bring back L10 metric that they used to use as a small part of the criteria.

Would've hurt OU most years but not this year lol

Committee is crossing there fingers VCU gets beat today or tomorrow so they can bump them out.

Is that what we should be cheering for? We really need saint louis to win that tourney, huh?

Yes, and VCU to not make the champ game. A loss today would be a quad 3 loss for VCU and move them out/OU in.

Need you today big fella, get hot one time.

Incidentally, CBS got rid of Jerry Palm and replaced him with a computer this year. Or so I read somewhere else...I know Palm is no longer with them.
The computers seeding models seem to really like us compared to the bracketologists.
