Bubble Watch

Yea.

My gut is that we are out. I think that Dayton win pushes us out unfortunately.

I bet we are First One Out.

Again unless the committee watches the last few weeks.

We beat 4 bubble teams ahead of us: auburn, Texas, Texas atm, and Missouri.

And we are running it back... Sigh

Looking likely. We are better than and are playing better than the last 8 teams in the field though. Been the first team out now 3 times in Moser’s tenure? Got to be a conspiracy lol

is "playing better than" a metric the selection committee uses?
no conspiracy.....just win more games and you don't have to worry about it.
someone needs to tell moser the secret to getting in the tournament. win your home games and beat bad teams on the road.

But you’re one of the smartest posters on the board, so you know that yes, the committee watched the last month, but they don’t assign it any more or less weight than any other part of the season. We played better than those teams for a month, but unfortunately, they played better than us for the better part of three months. I’ve always felt the golf analogy is the best one. Your final score is your final score, no matter how you get there. If we end up missing out by a tiny margin, I think that instead of focusing on any perceived injustice, our coach and new AD need to finally do some hard examination and realize they can’t treat Nov and Dec like it’s time to just play a bunch of glorified scrimmages. Playing in the SEC gives you a lot of opportunities for big wins, sure, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t control your noncon schedule much better than we have. It’s so annoying that Moser does this, because the NCAA gives you the keys to the test. Everyone knows exactly what factors they consider, but Moser, year after year, continues doing what they don’t want power conference teams to do.

I prefer the old way where they weighted how you played late a little more. But, yes. that is not the way any longer and everyone knows it (maybe not Porter). I really don’t know which way is better anyway. I’ve seen teams who are hot play like crap in Round 1 and teams who are cold get hot again. And the opposite is also true. Bottom line, we screwed up and are likely to pay the price for it. If you schedule poorly and lose 9 games in a row you need to do something spectacular later. We played good lately but nothing that the committee will see as spectacular to cause their human side to override the metrics. Sad state of Sooner basketball. I think we’re out.

Moser doesn’t fund the basketball team. He is just the coach. If you think moser is the only problem, you just just have an imature understanding of things.

If you think firing moser will or can fix the program, again you are very naive.

If your bad enough to abandon the basketball program, then you should waste the administration also fired and the primary donors banded from the program. Fans shouldn’t be allowed to attend games because their fandom is only half ass. I could go on.

The point their a multiple reasons for the state of the program. Coaching is just a small part of it. Now, in the professional era of college basketball. Coaching matters but is far from the most important issue. As for me, i agree that we need to fix the gym and funding, then see what moser can do. Then if we need to fix coaching fine

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thus is mine. You can have yours

Sometimes fans have to sacrifice to prove a point.

If we keep going to games we are actively saying that the way ou hoops is treated is ok
Bottom line. Every citizen has the right to spend money the way they choose, assuming they aren’t doing something illegal with it. Every business needs to understand that.

If we are out again, I'll be sending an email to the new AD saying I won't be attending any bball games again next year due to Moser being back after missing the tournament in 5 of 6 years. Just unacceptable
Let me know if you find a way to email Denny directly. I couldn't find an email listed.

Doubt he monitors his own X account, but that might be a place to address him.

Not just that. The older I get, the more things I have pulling at me for my time and finances. I'm going to choose the things I enjoy the most. I'll always be an OU basketball fan, but what that looks like isn't going to be consistent year over year. I get a lot more enjoyment from OU baseball than I do OU basketball currently. I was hoping we'd move on from Moser and I'd have something to look forward to next year with OU basketball, but alas, it's a situation that doesn't overly appeal to me.

I liked the roster this year and tried to watch some of the early season games, but just found myself getting mad. OU basketball is not an enjoyable product for me currently.

Coaching is just a small part of it.

1. WTF were you trying to say there? Did you have a stroke?

2. Coaching is the biggest problem. The other problems are the small ones.

You think Dayton is a lock now? VCU is currently kicking their ass, so I don’t see how them winning last night impacts OU.

Lenardi currently has us at first team out. He is never 100% accurate, so I’m hoping we slip in. Miami of Ohio losing is what irritates me the most. They’ve had a nice season, but they don’t play ANYONE! Lay their numbers next to OU’s, w/o the name of the schools listed…and tell me who most would pick. They would finish in the bottom of the SEC…but they’ll get a pass I’m sure.

We are in 3 of 120 brackets on bracketmatrix.com

Need VCU to win to keep Dayton out and VCU from maybe stealing another spot. May be too little too late. (Hope they don't get 2 spots - bad enough they got one for sure)
