Bubble Watch

The fact 3 of the last 4 teams that got into the play in lost 5 of their last 6 games, not even talking about this Edwards kid bs, is absolutely infuriating. Ready to break some more stuff like I did on Sunday.
Why is it ridiculous? Why are games in March more important than games in January and Feb? In football, fans complain if teams get penalized for losing late as opposed to early. But in basketball, everyone wants to act like the committee should just choose the hottest teams. Among other things, overemphasizing the last few games wouldn’t be equitable because some teams have a frontloaded conference schedule and others the opposite. If we played Florida or Bama in the last three weeks, it’s highly unlikely we would have won 8 of 11.

Would you have picked SMU over OU?

I have no idea. That’s not the committee’s job, though, to select the field based on who they think would be favored in a head to head game. The results of the full season matter. I just hate when our fans do this. Every year, people wait to see who is in the First Four and then say “it’s crap they made it over us.” A lot of people also said Texas shouldn’t be in. If we had made it, people would have said it about us as a 15-loss team without a single good noncon wins. All the teams at the bottom of the field are pretty damn weak.

Like the other poster mentioned…I simply struggled with the logic the committee member mentioned. “They are getting back a player who is a good defender”. 🙄. And this “lock down defender” didn’t even play tonight!! SMU finished 11th in a weaker league…so yeah, we as OU fans can be irritated about it. Not sure why that bothers you.

Could we have won another game or two, absolutely..but don’t go on the air and spew some BS as to why you picked SMU as the last team in. That’s all. 🤷‍♂️

The committee guy on TV literally said that Edwards being back was the reason they put SMU in. They lied. Maybe he would have been available if they somehow made the 2nd weekend but that's not what they seemed to say. SMU lied and got in because of that.

It is also correct to say we are way better than this as a program and should be in by a lot not having to worry about shitty programs like SMU telling lies.

So remember that guy that SMU said was gonna play so the committee would maybe put them in the tournament?

Yeah well he's out.

Maybe we should have made up a graphic saying Jeremiah Fears would have been eligible for the NCAA Tournament.

Regardless of how you think about Moser...this is absolutely infuriating that we got left out for this.

This is why they always had a last 10 criteria. We absolutely should’ve been in this tournament.

lol one game is proof they should have a last 10 criteria?

It’s truly incredible to me that any OU fan is complaining this season. The weakest bubble in history. Only one bid thief. And we went under .500 in games against actual competition. Zero room to complain or point fingers at the committee. This is 100 percent on the coach and players. If you want to see your name on selection Sunday in March, don’t take the first three months of the season off. Very simple.

While I agree. Don't lose 9 straight games in conference play and we don't have the problem we had. We should be better than just barely making the tournament. The program isn't in the state it should be in. Even if we were in the game last night over SMU I'm not sure we beat Miami(Oh)

I don't think he's asking h2h (i could be wrong). Would you have picked smu for the tourney over ou?

do i think OU should have been in over smu ... and maybe miami oh / texas sure ..

did OU DESERVE to be in 0.00% ..

Honestly, none of the first four teams deserved to be in which is why they should go backing the 64 team format. They will never do that but they should.

I have basically ignored most of the play in stuff the last few years. It does make it harder to do brackets because the slash teams makes you not even notice those teams and you don't even think of a possible sweet 16 team get in. It got me more the first couple years it was around.
