Bynum to the Thunder?

Do it!!!!! This season is pretty much written off anyway, IMO....

The Cavs may balk now that Kyrie Irving appears to have hurt his knee. Since everything this season has been geared towards next season it's still a success IMO. We saw how well the young guys were playing together before the injury bug hit. They need to keep working the system, get everybody healthy & make a couple targeted personnel moves heading into next season.

The hang up now is that The Lakers want Dion Waiters in the proposed trade, and The Cavs don't want to include him in the deal...

Yep, or the Lakers would take a 1st round pick and the Cavs only give a 2nd. What many don't understand is the Lakers aren't planning to play Bynum. He must be cut by Tuesday in order to get the cap relief......Kupchak wants to get him today or tomorrow, and then cut him without him ever entering California.

IMO, it's a brilliant move for the future FA signings. Getting rid of Gasol, and cutting Bynum frees up about 20 mil in cap space for the next 2 yrs......

Gasol is too good to give up for nothing. If the Cavs want him to make a playoff run they have to give up Bynum AND some assets.

Actually after watching Gasol tonight the Lakers will probably accept Bynum & the 2nd round pick to save the $25 million. Mozgov destroyed Pau. lol

Yep, his best years are behind him. May as well start the rebuilding process. He can still score some, but absolutely gets destroyed on defense, and on the boards.

LA gave up almost 140 tonight........

That's what happens when you get out rebounded by 20 & allow 30 fast break points. But nobody is really to blame, including Pau, since they are playing so short handed. Seriously, the 6th starting pg who was just called up from the D league. lol who to his credit has dropped 32 dimes in his 2 starts.

Bynum to Chicago for Deng and draft picks... Rumor has it Chicago will cut him before tomorrow.......

With the Clippers & Heat going after Bynum. I suspect he ends up on the Heat to battle Hibbert. He can practice his salsa dancing on the side. lol

What do you think about Deng? Will the Lakers go after him in free agency? Its possible they would want him over Carmelo.

There's rumors that the Thunder are trying to trade Sefaloshia and Perkins to Chicago for Noah. Not sure I like that deal honestly because it screws up the Thunder's rotation at guard. And changes nothing at center really.

Nick I saw the Thunder traded Gomes for a pick & Thabeet is on a team option contract. They can smell a title chance & are likely prepping for a move.

The Bulls aren't giving up Noah for those guys. I don't see how taking a shot on Bynum hurts. He's been portrayed as the bad guy so long because of high expectations. He could be the hero with limited production on OKC. He knows this and there's a decent chance would play his ass off to be the hero. If it doesn't work the Thunder would be no worse off.

Bynum for Deng was a GREAT trade for the Cavs. With Kyrie, Waiters, Varajeo, and Deng they have a solid group. Hope Deng sees they are serious enough to sign an extension

But then he might also realize he would have to live in Cleveland.

There's basically been no word on anyone really wanting the guy since a couple days ago.

He wants more than the veteran minimum and people aren't willing to pay it. Plenty of teams want him on the cheap, he is holding out for more money that may or may not come

It's pro sports. The money is coming as long as he can pass a physical. If history has taught us anything it's that anybody, no matter what, who has potential, will get overpaid if they patiently wait for a desperate owner to materialize. Which they always do.

Almost nobody wants him.

ESPN reports that the market for Andrew Bynum has been waning since the former Cav was traded to Chicago and the waived. In part, the problems include the fact that Bynum wants more than the minimum for his services.
Sources told ESPN.com on Sunday that the Los Angeles Clippers, long presumed to be one of Bynum's primary suitors, are leaning against the prospect of signing the enigmatic former Los Angeles Laker.
ESPN.com reported Thursday that the Brooklyn Nets (after losing Brook Lopez) and Atlanta Hawks (after losing Al Horford) were likewise planning to pass on the idea despite their clear need at center, with sources subsequently adding that the Oklahoma City Thunder are not preparing a bid on Bynum in the wake of the recent trade that shed the contract of Ryan Gomes to take the Thunder nearly $2.3 million away from the luxury-tax threshold.
Teams with a known interest, sources said, include Dallas and New York, but both of those suitors, like the Clippers, are restricted to offering a minimum salary. Bynum, meanwhile, is said to be looking for an offer above the league minimum to recoup more of the $6 million he lost when Chicago waived Bynum immediately Tuesday after acquiring him in a trade for Luol Deng.

You have to admire the moxy of Bynum. He misses an entire year in Philadelphia, who had built their entire team around him, missing a season in part due to an injury suffered while bowling. Then is suspended for conduct detrimental after only being able to play limited minutes because of his knee, then traded and waived... and now wants more money.
Amazing.
Will a team talk themselves into Bynum just as Philadelphia and Cleveland did? Will Bynum try harder than he did in Cleveland, Washington, or LA? Is there any reason to give him more than the minimum? It's hard to believe but stranger things have happened.
Meanwhile, the report also says Miami's the frontrunner for his services. If they can make Michael Beasley into a productive member of basketball society, they can do anything. But is there room on the roster for Greg Oden and Andrew Bynum?
