Cade needs to stop shooting 3's.

Not sure his 1-3 from 3-pt range last night was the reason we lost by 20.

I think he's earned the right to shoot. Here's where he ranks on OU's all-time 3-pt list. He's about to pass Price, Mookie and Minor in the next few weeks.

1. Terry Evans - 259
2. Hollis Price - 241
3. Tim Heskett -215
4. Tony Crocker - 198
5. Ryan Minor - 170
6. Mookie Blaylock - 169
7. Brent Price - 167
8. Cade Davis - 163
9. JR Raymond - 153
10 Austin Johnson - 144
11 Nate Erdman - 141

Kind of amazing, he's having almost an exact replica of Tony Crocker's senior season.

2009 Tony Crocker - 59/169 - 34%
2010 Cade Davis - 59/170 - 34%

Amazing to Think J.R. Raymond hit that many 3s in just 59 games. He could of smashed Evans record had he not had the off court problems

I just don't understand Cade's shot. He scrapes the ceiling with that arc. You can't consistently hit shots like that. A lot of his misses are airballs or barely graze the rim because the ball is coming straight down.

Gimp, so do the stats that Boomer posted, sure he is in a slump, if a shooter is in a slump the only way to come out of it is to keep shooting. i am sure Capel needs to sit him though because Gimp said so.

I don't have a problem with him shooting the ball. It's his shot selection. Forcing up 3 pointers at critical points in games.

Did I ever say Capel needs to sit him? Not at all. Cade's a solid defensive player (when he's not worried about fouling out), is a decent slasher, and a solid group rebounder.

But my main issue is with his horrendous shooting beyond the arc, especially as CMSooner mentioned jacking up shots in critical points of the game.

I was digging around for stuff on Carl Blair, and I found on soonerworld.com (never heard of it) that Cade has apparently been battling an ankle injury? I dunno...maybe, if true, that's why he's having problems shooting the ball.

Gotta adjust your game. It's easy to shoot three's. Lazy players shoot threes. If you have to "settle" for a 3 then you shouldn't shoot it. If you have an injury, you shouldn't be shooting the same as if you were healthy. Shoot high percentage shots. Cade goes through streches where he makes bad shooting decisions.

Cade is .368 on the season from 3 point range. That equates to aboute 52% shooting inside the three point line. (.368X3=1.104 - For every 3 pointer shot by Cade OU scores 1.104 points).

For some perspective only 5 guys in the conference are shooting above 52% from the field. http://www.big12sports.com/fls/10410/pdfs/mbasketball/Big12stats11.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=10410. Only 12 guys in the conference are shooting above .368 from 3 point range.

I don't get why people bash Cade Davis.

Steven Pledger needs to quit shooting threes. Cade is just fine.
