Call the Hogs

I think Tramel makes a lot of good points why Arkansas should join...but I don't see them leaving the SEC.

Monetarily, the SEC has been good to them. Competitively, not so much.

I can see where they would find the Big XII much more attractive than the SWC. They were they only non-Texas school in the SWC. I remember reading the teams schedules in the program at one of the few OU/Texas games I've ever attended in the 1960's. The only time the University of Texas ever left the state of Texas was to play Arkansas every other year. Every other game they played, including bowl games, was in Texas.

You're correct. But Arkansas would be the best team in the north and have a better chance at a BCS game than they would in the SEC.

I would love to add Arkansas to the Big 12 North.

It depends on how the league is realigned, if oSu moved to the north they would be better than Arkansas. We would have to add another team North of Stillwater. Which I personally think that if the conference wants to add 2 to make jerry happy then we need to offer Memphis and get the money from Fed Ex. Persoanlly I like 10 better though

If we went back to 12 teams and had 2 divisions, I think there should be a provision that would allow for realignment of the divisions periodically. It's not good when one division is much tougher than the other.

I like the idea in theory, but im not sure how it would play out. in 2007 Mizzou, Kansas, and OU we in the Top 10 in the BCS. that would seem to me that there was more power in the north even though OU one the big 12, Same thing in basketball in 2008-2009 year, Kansas one the conference, but we went to the Elite Eight and a were a Blake Griffin Concussion away from winning the Conference. To many years where there are anomalies make realignment hard to do IMO

I'd love to have them in the conference from a competitive standpoint, but unless Jerry works some T. Boone type of financial wizardry, I don't see it happening. Who's gonna leave the SEC for a conference that's future is uncertain at best?
