I would love to see Cam Clark have a couple of big games down the stretch where he scores 15 or more. He has done it in the past and I think it would really help his confidence going into next season. OU needs Cam Clark to produce more points and I am positive he can do it.

Plays like a walkon. If OU had more Sophs would tell him to take a hike.

That's just stupid! Ever heard of a sophomore slump?

Have you been watching what he's done besides not scoring? Dude has played some good D and has plenty of rebounds.

Sure I'd like to see Clark play well. Besides standing around when he gets stripped of the ball and looking at the refs, he shot 1 of 8 from the field.
On KU,MU or Baylor could he crack their top 8? Wouldn't start for K-State or I-State.
He certainly wasn't the whole reason OU lost today and I realize there's nothing on the bench that's any better.
Probably where OU is at. Not enough depth. No one to pug in when you need someone to come in and spark the team.

I really don't think Cam fits the mold of the type of player Kruger likes. I will not be surprised to see him transfer.

M'Baye will be starting over him next season. That is a virtual lock.

Ridiculous! He had 11 rebounds tonight! He just needs to work on his shot and he could be a really good player at OU.

Thing I have noticed about Cam's shot is that he is always hitting the back of the rim. Ever notice that?

If you watch his shot he is always landing forward of where he takes off. Do you think that might be why he is always long on his shot? Somebody should teach him to go straight up, not forward.

His ball handling: dude has some seriously long arms. He needs to stop dribbling the ball so high and out in front of him. With long arms he should be able to keep it lower and move easily from side to side. If someone ever needed to watch that AND1 stuff and emulate it, I'd say it's Cam.

I'm not sure how you can call it a sophomore slump when he didn't do much last year other than the Baylor game?

I can't figure it out. He has all the tools but he just plain sucks on offense right now. His defense is pretty good, probably even better than pretty good, but we need offense in the worst way and he's not providing it one iota.

It's not just his shot that's bad. He doesn't do very much to get easy shots. And with his size he should be decent at getting to the basket against mostly smaller guards. Crocker showed the skill to take it to the hole his career. This is something Clark mostly doesn't show.

Nick, he doesn't get to the rim like Crocker because of his ball handling. I'd love to see Cam spend the summer in a camp going back over the fundamentals of the game.

I thought Cam was active tonight especially at the first of the game, and he's quick. He's just not a very consistent outside shooter (great dunker). He doesn't seem to get himself set and shoots a 2-handed shot that he holds high above his head. I'm not sure he's ever going to be much of a shooter from the outside. JMHO

You are probably right, he just doesn't look natural in almost every part of the game offensively.

Cam's got a kind of hitch in his movements when he has the ball. To me, it appears that this affects his shots and his dribbling. IMO he would benefit from going back to basics as he has freakish athletic ability!

I find myself asking what he did last year to average 10 ppg. This year he is taking jumpshots instead of being a set shooter. Is that it the only difference from last season?

I haven't looked at the stats but Ro, Fitz, and Pledge are taking most of the shots (and should), I just don't think Cam has found his niche offensively.

He does not have a good motion on the jumper but it's probably too late to change.

B/c you don't understand his game. The problem is...if he doesn't shoot the ball...they will never get Pledger open. You can't have only 1 guard on a team that shoots jump shots. He averaged more points last year b/c Cade Davis was on this team which allowed him to get better shots b/c he didn't have to force shots. He was also playing the 4 more which allowed him to have some offensive mismatches.

You guys get on Clark for taking jump shots even though he isn't great at it but its not his fault that he is the 2nd best jump shooter on this team. Grooms is left wide open and still can't shoot the ball. Blair sucks. Neal will only shoot wide open 3's.

But you guys come on here and bash him for taking bad shots instead of complimenting him on his 11 rebounds. Theres not a team out there that can win with only 1 jump shooter/3pt shooter on their team. He takes those shots b/c he has to b/c if he doesn't who will....Blair/Grooms/Neal??? Pledger can't always take every shot b/c he gets the most respect from our opponents. So even though Clark is struggling, its not its his fault that he has to take shots that would be more suited for a player like Newell. He's not having a sophmore slump...its just the fact that he is only a sophmore and he will get better. Pledger and Fitzgerald got better and so will Clark. Give it time.

Clark is a great kid, but he sucks at basketball. Total bust. Very very very average players.

It is somewhat of a mystery to me. Not that I'm huge on high school rankings, but when OU inks a top-30 recruit, it's always going to be exciting news...and high expectations. We certainly saw flashes of that last year. With a better coach, I can't imagine anyone thinking he'd regress to become the 5th best player on the team.

Also, since we seem to lose at least one player every year to transfer, Cam would be the guy most of us would probably pick to leave. I hope he sticks it out and gets better. The guy is clearly trying; probably too hard.

Didn't Clark play A LOT of minutes at the 4 last year? That is my theory as to why he did so well last year. He was usually matched up against a post, but played on the perimeter. This year, he can't shake loose from the quicker players that are guarding him.

That, and it looks to me like he changed his shooting form (for the worse, actually). And at this point, he is fighting the mental side of things. He probably won't shake free this season, but hopefully in the offseason he can get away from the game for a few weeks, then get a fresh start.

I've been saying since he signed though that he probably wouldn't live up to his ranking. The kid was RAW in the skills department coming out of school. What he did in HS was play on a team, that had a system, that was kind to Cam. Kind of the up and down, run and gun. In a system like that, Cam's athleticism can help him overcome his relative lack of skills. In the halfcourt game, not so much.
