Can you guys explain some Trump things to me?

Because one industry doesn’t like it, it means it’s a failure?

It’s a huge industry for one, it’s increased our national debt even more, and the US manufacturing it was supposed to be for aren’t getting the benefits because companies are getting a lot of the lost merchandise from Mexico & Venezuela.

It’s not a quick fix

I for one don’t want to give China a damn dime

Explain to me why it will bring more to vote. Are there not places to vote downtown?

It won’t. The voter turnout will be the same. I don’t understand why more people don’t vote, but that’s the reality of our situation.

It's absolutely going to generate more voting. How much more, I don't know. But any increased voting is not good news for Republicans, especially in big cities.

I'm a little different than most. I think the people that vote currently are the ones that care the most and are most informed. They are putting out an effort. The easier you make the process, the increase in votes is largely going to be from the population that is uneducated, voting for not so great reasons (oh, Lebron told me to vote and I can vote where HE plays), and in general, the people that don't really care about the process all that much. This isn't JUST about a presidential election, it's about local elections and passing proposals and stuff as well. Those votes tend to run closer, where adding uneducated voters could actually sway results. That is unlikely in the Presidential election, but this isn't just a change for that vote, right?

I know not everybody will agree with my stance on this. I'm sure some of you will assume "uneducated voters" means black democrats. It does NOT. I've just always liked that most of our voting is done by the people that actually take the time to truly understand what they are voting for, and not those that simply want to vote b/c it's at an NBA arena, or b/c Lebron told them who to vote for.

I’m more inclined to believe it could backfire on the Democrats. Residents of these cities (many of them African American and Hispanic) can’t possibly be happy with the way their cities are being run. Their pleas for help have been largely ignored for several months. Violence and destruction have been the norm since early summer, yet the Democratic mayors have turned a deaf ear to President Trump’s offers of assistance.

I think you may be surprised by the minority turnout in support of the Republican candidate this time around. I’m not saying Biden won’t get the majority of the votes. But the increase of a few percentage points from the traditional vote in favor of the Dems in these cities, could be the difference in a close election.

If the black voters of the upper Midwest and the Rust Belt had come out for Hillary Clinton as they did for President Obama we'd have a woman in the White House today. But they didn't, and it remains to be seen if they'll roll out for VP Biden. I'm skeptical.

Trump's base is involved, and they back up their support with their vote.

Unlikely, in my opinion. More voting is typically never recognized as good for Republicans.

I will be curious to see which narrative wins out.

The current "con" being put out by the current regime is that, only Donald Trump can save you from what is going on under Donald Trump's watch right now. Everything you are upset about is happening under him. I've NEVER seen so much fear peddled at a political convention. It is now the primary weapon.

Covid has hurt American badly, and cost 185,000 lives.... Trump takes no blame. Trump takes no accountability, by his own words. Protests are happening around the country, under Trump's watch.... Trump has nothing to do with it.

  • Only Trump can save you from the mess he created with China.
  • Only Trump can save you from the mess he created with Iran.
  • Only Trump can save you from the mess he created with his failed Covid response.
  • Only Trump can finish the border wall that has created about 15 miles of NEW wall, where there was no barrier before.
  • Only Trump can save you from the mess he created with our allies
  • I don't even think they are pretending to cast themselves as saviors of fiscal responsibility anymore. After the tax cuts, debt ballooning, large surges in military spending, etc. Kinda hard to make that argument.

Explain to me why it will bring more to vote. Are there not places to vote downtown?

Here is the basic idea.

  • Lots of people don't vote.
  • There is, without a doubt, voter suppression in minority communities
  • The NBA, it's stars, coaches, etc are going to use their platform to get people to not only register to vote, but also to vote
  • Lots of people may think traditional voting lines are unsafe this year due to Covid.
  • Lots of black areas are victims of targeted voter suppression tactics, like what we have seen in Georgia. Closed poll locations, 5 hour waits in line, etc
  • Having an easily accessible, safe place to vote from October 13th to November 3rd will likely encourage more people to vote. Having them as early stations will give people a lot more time to vote as well.
  • Events are also being scheduled at these arenas, MLB stadiums, etc for September to get more people registered to vote. This will create some new voters as well
.

Lebron is spending millions of dollars to get more poll workers, poll stations, etc in urban communities, minority communities, etc. On top of that, spending a lot of money to get everyone to come out and vote. He is being assisted by Patrick Mahomes, Lisa Leslie, Damian Lillard, Michael Jordan, and many others. Also hearing that at these places, the players themselves may be volunteers at the polls, to have enough people to run a good election, and to also bring people out. You don't think people will come out to see Lebron, Trae Young, Luka Doncic, Michael Jordan, etc?

For example, in another swing state, North Carolina...

Bank of America Stadium (where the Panthers play), and Spectrum Arena (where the Hornets play) are also early voting sites. Michael Jordan is spending tens of millions of dollars to address voter suppression, get people to vote, give people a safe place to vote that will be quick, etc.

Spectrum Center will host early voting for the 2020 elections from October 15 – 31. Voting hours will be 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Sundays.

The big “con” as you put it, is not Trump. The dems are stoking the fear and saying everyone is a racist. They have no policy and no plan except to keep the masses afraid of the boogeyman. The dems are the ones running a con of lies and fear. It’s the only thing they have. The riots are happening because dem leaders allow it to continue, even at the expense of their constituents. Violence and chaos are the dem plan to defeat Trump. They don’t have a plan on how to make anything better. They are trying to blame trump for everything and that’s their plan to win. It’s a total failure because most people aren’t stupid.

The dems are stoking the fear

You serious? The below is a very SMALL sample of what was said at the RNC. All fear. Apparently if Biden is elected he will start murdering babies in the womb, destroy religion, ban churches, force obedience to him, burn down every town and suburb, confiscate all guns, lock you in your homes, invite central american gangs to invade the suburbs, etc. It was basically be the end of the world. While that sounds entirely ridiculous, that's exactly what they said, lol.

They want to tell Americans how to live... and what to think. They want a government takeover of health care. They want to ban fracking and kill millions of jobs. They want massive tax hikes on working families."
-Nikki Haley

"Trump is the bodyguard of western civilization. Trump was elected to protect our families from the vengeful mob that seeks to destroy our way of life, our neighborhoods, schools, churches, and values. President Trump was elected to defend the American way of life."
-Charlie Kirk

"Democrats will disarm you, empty the prisons, lock you in your home, and invite MS-13 to live next door"
-Matt Gaetz

They want to destroy this country and everything that we have fought for and hold dear. They want to steal your liberty, your freedom. They want to control what you see and think and believe so that they can control how you live. They want to enslave you to the weak, dependent, liberal victim ideology to the point that you will not recognize this country or yourself."
-Kimberly Guilfoyle

"The socialists are poisoning our schools and burning our cities"
-Rand Paul

"The Biden administration will leave no room for people of faith"
-Cissie Graham

"They will strip us of our religious freedoms and religious liberties, but my father will fight for you"
-Eric Trump

"They will force the choice of being obedient to God, or to a Caesar"
-Cissie Graham

"The fabric of our nation is in peril"
-Jeannete Nunez

"We simply cannot survive a Biden recession. Some will not survive. And working men and women will get crushed again"
-John Peterson

"Joe Biden will throw away the lives of countless unborn children"
-Daniel Cameron

"Just imagine what 2020 would have looked like, fighting for your life, without Donald Trump helping you fight for your life too"
-Natalie Harp

"No matter where you live, you will not be safe"
-Pam McCloskey

“If the left gains power, they will demolish the suburbs, confiscate your guns"
-Donald Trump

“If Biden is elected, along with the Democrats who are unwilling to speak out against this anarchy, then the crime wave will intensify and spread from cities and towns to suburbs and beyond"
-Rudy Guliani

If all goes well, on Nov 4th they will start pretending again.

While I'm in agreement about the never-ending "racist" comments that have long gotten old, I think both parties are pretty adept at "stoking the fear".

Although neither candidate is even remotely interested in "uniting the country", I fear it will get worse if Trump is re-elected. I also fear that if Biden wins, the economy will come back much slower post-Covid (assuming effective vaccine). In other words, I have to decide who the lesser of two evils are for the second straight election. I had a pretty easy decision in 2008 (Obama) and 2012 (Romney), but this is not going to be a lot harder for me.

Vote on the greater good.
Which party is pushing to end the killing of the innocent and which party is for making it more available?

The dems support the mob. They support the violence to achieve their ends. That’s not how a democratic republic operates. A vote for Biden is a vote for the mob.

Trump: better economy, law and order, decreased unemployment, creating more jobs for American citizens.

Biden: worse economy, higher unemployment, mob rule, more division, horrible foreign policy taking more American jobs and further diminishing everything American.

Don’t reward the mob cuz they may come for you too. We are a nation of law and order.

This is definitely a concern for me. President Trump has done a very good job in limiting the H-1B Visas - which is exactly what we need to continue. I'm seeing Information Technology managers having 25-50 QUALIFIED resumes for one job opening. That means we don't need even more competition. Keep in mind that H-1B is nothing but a corrupt process which displaces American workers in favor of cheap foreign labor. Anyone who states otherwise either doesn't understand the process, or is in an executive position which they can save money by importing cheaper labor. If it's the latter, these executives simply claim that "We don't have enough qualified Americans to do the job". Anyone in I.T. knows that to be 100% false.

In my Trump vs. Biden comparison, the above favors Trump. However, our corrupt Congress (yes, BOTH parties) do a wink-wink when these companies get around H-1B restrictions with their creative offshoring or near-shoring while getting tax breaks. Until some of those loopholes are closed, Americans are screwed.

The S&P 500 and the NASDAQ markets are at all time highs. I wonder if this would be happening if the markets thought Biden is going to win the election.
