Capel to get 2 more years?

Well I guess there's only about 4,000-5,000 "Real Sooners" left. You guys enjoy that. I'll support OU, but not Capel.

Didn't say one word about " Real Sooners". You didn't answer the question that you quoted me on.

You never asked the question, only implied a question. I'm chatting on the same topic as you guys, just not supportive of unCapelable. We're all here for the same common reason, OU. If I were a frontrunner (or whatever you pro-Capel guys are calling it), I would find something better to do, like spend time with the kids instead of chatting/watching OU athletics. So just because we think Capel is a real shi**y coach, it doesn't make us fairweather. There's more that dislikes him than likes him. According to northbase's definition, we're all "passionate" about OU.

You keep wanting to label everyone and make everyone choose sides. Not one post have I said that I was pro-Capel/Against Capel. My take is, always has been, always will be..... Support the Team, Coach, Players until the admin makes a change. It doesn't mean that I don't agree with alot of the same issues that others do, but I will still support OUr team/coach just like I did Sampson, Gibbs, Scnelly, etc until they make the change.

As does everyone else on here. Besides the occasional - Nick sucks or Cade shoots too much - you don't hear a lot of player bashing. From the year I've spent on here, it's mostly the same guys that always chat on here (dedicated OU fans). So I would assume that most on here are "real Sooners" and have supported the Sooners for most of their life. I don't think any poster should start calling any other poster fairweather or "real" on an OU message board. Some of us can't attend every game and be as big of a fan as we'd want. I know a couple of us guys are down here in Texas. If we didn't support OU, we wouldn't be OU fans.

Oh and I'm not the one that is labeling anyone...it seems like if a poster has a negative feeling about Capel, then we're labeled unintelligent or frontrunning.

So to support OU, you have to support Capel

It's a tricky situation. Obviously, if you want a coaching change you don't necessarily want Capel to win, but as a Sooner fan don't you want us to win regardless? I would hope so.

so the people who didn't support John Blake weren't Sooner fans?

Seems to me that ultimately you would want OU to win every game. That doesn't mean you support the coach.

Rooting for OU to lose would just be plain stupid.

I'm serious about this question: How do you support the team, and not the coach??? It would seem that if you want a certain coach out, and he continues to win, that would contradict your wishes right?? How can you say in one breath, I support the team, and then say not the coach. Don't they go hand in hand??

If you want a certain coach gone so bad that it makes you post about it everyday, then I find it nearly impossible to believe that you don't hope for more losses to see that coach gone.

weren't those people who rooted for OU to lose and for Blake to leave justified when Stoops took over and OU won the NC two years later?

I've never rooted for OU to lose. But that's not the same as saying our coach is great when he's won 25 games in 2 years. Just like it wasn't good when we won 12 games in 3 years under Blake. I can't believe some of you think Capel is doing an amazing job. I still haven't got a good answer on what we do on offense or defense. I don't think you've seen me say, "I hope we lose the next game!"

I still haven't got a good answer on what we do on offense or defense.

That's easy. On offense we like to play inside-out. Every team Capel has had threw it down low, a bunch. Carter, Longar, Blake, Fitz, etc. They were all the focal point of the offense.

Defensively, Capel would like to play tough, man-to-man defense. The only thing i've noticed we're consistently bad at on defense is understanding the concept of help side.

I'd say people who rooted for OU through thick and thin were rightly rewarded with the 2000 season...

You guys are funny dudes. Sometimes you try too hard to prove a point and make yourselves sound overly intelligent without the actual intelligence. About 5 of you (I won't list), go around trying to be Mr. Right, it's annoying as shi*. There's no explanation needed other than...OU is bigger than any uncapelable coach and no one wants OU to lose to fire a coach, that's nonsense. The coach is 12-16 right now. He's not befitting of the OU position and has proved it. That's really all you need to know. I don't think anyone here (that wants Capel gone) is advocating losing to OSU/Tech. You can can gang up on me. I don't really care.

And you, Jesse, state over and over and over again that you think Capel should be let go, it's annoying as ****.

I want us to win, I really don't give a **** who the coach is. I'm down to give Capel another year because I think he deserves it, but I won't go screaming and crying if he isn't back, I can, unlike you, see the other side of the argument.
