Casey Arent commits to OU

I personally like the reports on this Grandy Glaze guy. He seems really tough and thats what we need.

I just don't think we need another undersized post, when we could save the ship for next season and get a higher profile high school kid. Sure the kid might be a beast, but he's a 6'6" PF. Next year we could sign a bigger post player or a much needed SG.

I am with CMsooner here. The post rotation for next year is fine with Osby, Fitz, Arent, Washington, and Big Puma. They need to save the ship for next season and go after better guys than Grandy Glaze.

Olaseni is deciding tomorrow and does not have an offer according to a Rivals update.
So he is no longer an option

FWIW Olaseni and Mbaye are good friends..I may not be wrong but I believe we did offer Olaseni...he had a great time on his visit, im not sure where he is going to commit to though

I would be ok with signing Olaseni as he would be a freshman and could become a solid contributor throughout his time at OU. But outside of Olaseni and Uchebo, which I'm not sure if we're even after, I don't really see anyone else in the 2011 class worth signing. I think there's 2-3 top 100 kids still out there, but I don't think they're interested in OU.

You could also be right. Sam reported that OU assistant Chris Crutchfield was at Sunrise Christian Prep on the 20th, presumably to see Olaseni.

Maybe Chris was in Wichita to attend the Perry Ellis workout and had some time to kill? I have no idea why he was there. But the timing seems to suggest that there was at least enough interest to do a follow up on the kid.

Olaseni and his teammate are apparently going to announce tomorrow, My guess is Iowa

Are you talking about Gabe Olaseni or someone else?

Somebody else but I don't know his name. A bunch of schools are getting in on him late including us. Hopefully he will visit next weekend.

Assuming both Thompson and Hardrick are gone, and Goff doesn't make it, we have two 'ships left. I wouldn't mind using one, but I wouldn't waste it. We are in on a lot of quality players the next two years. Definitely wouldn't use it on a JUCO at this point, unless it was a complete stud, and probably a guard. That is an unlikely find at this point.

With the signing of Arent we have one left.

***Assuming Goff doesn't make it to Norman.

Is that assuming Hardrick stays? If he leaves, I think we have two left, unless I'm miscounting.

VBdad,
Are you talking about the PF/C kid from Louisiana?
Howard I think is his last name?

atlantasooner, who is the louisiana kid, what can you tell us about him? Just curious.

That is starting to look like at least somewhat of a competitive team for next season [excepting M'Baye obviously].

I have a gut feeling CJ plays a decent role on this team this year - albeit coming off the bench. I really don't have much to base it on, but for some reason I think his skills fit into what HCLK has in mind...
