Cezar Guerreo to Oklahoma St

From Scout.

Guerrero said Monday night that he knew what he wanted to do while visiting with his brother over the weekend, but wasn't prepared to announce his decision until after learning what transpired at Big 12 rival Oklahoma earlier in the day.
"I thought about it a lot and I thought about every situation (involving the colleges that were recruiting me). Oklahoma was one of my top schools and I was being recruited by coach (Jeff) Capel and after he got fired I immediately crossed them off the board," said the 6-0, 170-pound point guard from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif.

So capel or no capel he was osu bound anyway

Didn't Gottlieb trash the kid last week? Just wondering because tonight he's praising the kid.

This just proves that capel can't close on recruits

I think OSU is gonna go back to small-ball next season, because their small forward (Olukemi and Nash) are big and athletic enough to do it.

PG: Keiton Page/Cezar Guerrero
SG: Markel Brown/Keiton Page
SF: Lebryan Nash/Brian Williams
SF: JP Olukemi/Michael Cobbins
C: Jarred Shaw/Someone else they sign

That's still one of the worst shooting teams known to man.

Nash, Page, and Brian Williams are supposed to be good shooters.. I think Guerrero is as well.

Also, I think Markel will develop into a better shooter... Not only that, he is gonna be a VERY good player overall.

I had not heard that about Nash, I thought he was more of the athletic, driving type. I think stats say Page is an average shooter.

I agree on Brown.

Looks good shooting the ball to me:

He's an 18 feet and in kind of guy. I don't seeing him being better than 30% from three next year if he's taking 2-3 a game unless he improves a ton over the off season.

Well, then they better hope Cezar and Brian Williams are good shooters, and that Markel Brown and Keiton Page get better in that department.

Dude, they're going to be a bad shooting team again. Period. If they can't shoot 40 free throws a game they'll be in deep trouble.

Yep, thats why missing out on D'Angelo Harrison hurts them. He might be the best shooter in the nation for 2011 and he chose St. Johns over the Pokes.

What about dowell? He's been filling it up since earning playing time. He seems to have a good looking shot

Page is a good shooter. It's the lack of other good shooters that killed his averages this year, he had very few open looks like he had the last few years. He didn't become a worse shooter over last summer. They certainly need some guys to improve from outside, or it could be a rough season again.

As for Guerrero, hope he's good!

Did Cobbins redshirt this year because of an injury or because he just wasn't going to crack the rotation?

I remember reading a lot about him early last summer when Mizzou was recruiting him. Seemed like a really intriguing prospect, but I believe he had some kind of major injury. Don't remember the details, though...
