Chelsea Dungee

Chelsea is only turned 16 in May. These stats indicate just how good she is right now:

Has played one varsity season at Preston Public School in Preston, Okla.; played in just two regular season games and nine games overall due to being a transfer and needing to sit out for 365 days.

Lists a best single game of 24 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in 13 minutes played.

As a freshman in 2012-13, started in all nine games played and averaged 20 ppg., 10 rpg., 6 apg., 2.6 apg. and 1 bpg. to help her team to a 21-11 record and a state-tournament appearance; shot 51% from the field, 45% from 3-point and 80% from the line.

Currently plays in the summer for Cy-Fair Nike Team Ogwumike; played for Team Arkansas Elite from 2008-2013, finished fourth at 2008 AAU Nationals, reached AAU Nationals final four and finished fourth in 2009 and finished second at Nike Nationals in 2010; played for the Tulsa Lady Jr. Hurricanes from 2005-2007.

Her coach stated their record would have been better if Chelsea would have been able to play the entire year. Chelsea said that even though she is left-handed, she plays basketball more right-handed. She is also an excellent student.

Have I mentioned that I'm really high on this girl???

I have really high hopes for Dungee. She could be a top 20 talent or the best player to every play at OU since Paris. I think she could start as soon as she steps on campus but she will have a lot of upperclassmen ahead of her.

When she gets here, we will have the following guards who would be potential competition:

Gioya Carter
Peyton Little
Maddie Manning
Derica Wyatt
Perhaps LaNesia Williams

I think Maddie and Peyton could play SF. In fact, I still think Maddie could play the 4. She might not be a great rebounder but I believe she would be very good offensively at that position.

If you have Ortiz at the point, Dungee at the 2, Peyton at the 3, and Maddie at the 4 (I can still hope), that is a really good team, assuming we can find a really good center. Then, what if we sign Danni Williams or Lauren Cox...unreal!

OU really has a over load at guard, Arike Ogunbowale 2015 is good friends with Ortiz. Maybe Ortiz can help get her to OU... it worked with Kornet and Little.

Yes, there is an abundance of guards. I have to believe some are not going to get enough playing time to stay.
