replace Yo Yo. Thinking she has the education and experience, though could be wrong. Just always loved Chelsi so it would be nice to see her around, though not sure it would be best for her so maybe she shouldn't.

I tried to google her, and I get nothing that tells me what she is doing more recent than three years ago. She seems to be working with 13-year-olds?

I still remember her freshman year when we played some small texass school and half our team was down with torn acls. Chelsi put the rest on her back and charged the basket every time she touched the ball and almost saved the day. I still have seen nothing like it.She has been a favorite since.

Chelsi's BA is in Psychology, her MA in Human Relations. She has been working with Athletes in Rhythm in Edmond for several years, and I don't doubt she's still the strong, wonderful young woman we all remember. But I'm not sure that qualifies for replacing YoYo. Actually, I'm not sure what the qualifications ARE for being a strength and conditioning coach!

That's a good question. Are there certifications or degree requirements?

Don't really know but see that YoYo has some certifications. I also believe I saw a degree (somewhere on the internet) that looked relevant to doing this type of work. I certainly believe it is a position which needs a degree. There is so much about the body/performance/endurance/nutrition that can really impact the physical, mental and emotional health of an athlete or ANYONE.

I read that Taj McWilliams Franklin, who had such a long, successful career in professional women's basketball believes stretching really helped her. When she played for a South Korean team they stretched for two hours at a time (don't know how frequent) and though she really did not enjoy it, later decided it really helped her. Yoga, meditation, lots to learn I would think.

There is a National Strength and Conditioning Coach Association that does require an examination for certification. A Bachelor's Degree is also required, but I don't know the major.
