What former Sooner does this guy remind you guys of? I think (like most JUCOs) the light is starting to come on for him as he adjusts to D1 speed and physical play. He leads the team in rebounds per minute played and seems to be earning Capel's trust in crunch time as a defensive stopper and rebounder.

I think I am going to go with Jameel Heywood. I realize that Jameel had a bigger body, but they seem like similar players to me.

As a junior Heywood averaged just over 3 points and 3 boards a game while playing 11 minutes and shooting 60% from the floor (lots of layups and dunks).

heywood never had to ajust to the physical play of the big 12 ...... but i do agree the light is starting to come on for CJ and he is a good rebounder ..

Kind of off topic, but I'll never forget the last second putback Jameel got against Mizzou in Columbia to win. I think this was 2000 or 2001.

I remember when he got the ball to shoot, I was like "oh crap", but he made it.

Washington reminds me a bit of Ernie Abercrombie in that he's an undersized guy who is a rebounding machine. Ernie had a sweet outside stroke, though, as KU found out in that epic upset in 1995.
