Coale "fires" DeCosta and Thraikill

I am not. I am only opposed if it is a requirement for being a member of the OUWBB team. I don’t think anyone should be forced to follow or practice a religion to play a sport at a public supported institution.

I believe in giving to God what is God’s and to Caesar what is Caesar’s.

If this is voluntary, I fully support it, but if it is voluntary like summer workouts in most sports, I am not.

This rumor has been around so long there must be some incident that sparked it.

I believe some form of it must be true. Maybe all it is is FCA meeting.

I’ve mentioned that I saw it down on a player’s schedule some years back.

How do you know the players or their parents never say anything? You don't know any do you?

Well, I do. Additionally, my children went to school with the children of at least five sets of parents who either work, or worked, in the Athletic Department in high positions of authority, or, whose children actually played for Sherri. These include head coaches, assistant athletic directors, players, etc.

Two of my daughters played sports with the child of a former OU football coach and several big-name football players and we spent hours on sport sidelines talking together for more than 4 years.

I've got dozens of professors and OU administration friends in Norman. David Boren and his family both know me and have personally hired me for a number of business and personal projects.

Additionally, I've know several past and present members of the OU Board of Regents over the last nearly 40 years -- personally and professionally. I've shared small talk, meals and talked politics, OU and state and federal government with a number of them. I've invited some of them to speak at OU for special occasions. I've even been drunk with a few.

Now, I know what your response is going to be, but I've worked much of my life in the fields of journalism and politics statewide and nationally and I don't reveal my sources -- especially to a degrading, self-important, asshat like you who thinks they know everything and is the only one who can analyze and forward a thoughtful opinion on anything and everything.

No one here likes you Syb. As far as I can discern, no one ever has. At some point even a self-absorbed, self-important individual who proffers himself as an expert on Sherri Coale, would -- if they were as smart as you think

Given the current financial climate at OU I am surprised that no writer has mentioned the retention of CC on the OU WBB staff. Given that his mother is the head coach. Unless you work in a family run business I can not imagine any satisfaction in working for your mother! Seems like you are way down the totem pole!

Speaking of rumors, I heard one. One of the ladies on the team thought CC was pretty fly for a white guy. And to be fair the men's program isn't all that much better right..better? Yes, but its not like they couldn't use some help

And married to a former player. Nepotism to a new level. And don't get me wrong as I'm all for networking and exploring opportunities. However, would it not have been a better idea to refer her son/CC to another program? Add to it that he was on the scout/practice team when MHookCoale was on the team. The minute CC showed ANY interest in a player on the team should have been the moment he was no longer a part of the program. Then there is the termination of other assistant coaches who have more experience; especially PDecosta. It was a grand time for SC to try and correct the epitome of nepotism. But it seems as though she just doesn't care. If she is so well respected amongst her peers and in the HOF...surely she could have called one of them to help CC become employed elsewhere and get MHookCoale a teaching and coaching position along with it.

I said this day was coming years ago and before the win/loss decline because I saw the arrogance and entitlement...IMHO. But I never thought it would creep to this level. OU powers that be should be ashamed. How does one explain it from a financial, ethical and production perspective. It almost has the stench of the current college admissions mess with the exception that SC is not having to hide anything. Why?

Best to keep religion out of any WBB discussion. That includes inferring others are sinning. Some here might consider such conversation inappropriate and offensive. Others may find lying morally wrong but their faith does not believe in the concept of sin.

Given that OU’s Athletic Department is self sufficient and doesn’t draw on state funds, i’m Not sure the “colleges” financial side is an issue. Sherri is under contract until 2021. So, they pay her anyway? I can fully see her being given another year? It will be paid for one way or another.

Surely you jest. That is a description of nearly every assistant she has had including her son. Overton and DeCosta are the only exceptions, I believe. "BUDDY SYSTEM"? How much more buddy can you get than with your own child? AOlajuwon has more experience now than CCoale, JRoss, SHansmeyer, CThrailkill had when they arrived. Heck, she has more experience now than SCoale when she took the job at OU. You must be joking and/or confused.

I'm curious about your hatred of Sherri. You seem to have been a fan of the Paris twins. But, you don't seem to have an affiliation with OU. All of your vendetta seems to revolve around a feeling that the Paris twins were somehow cheated by Sherri. They don't seem to share your hatred. What am I missing here? It is curious that you only seem to come to an OU site for one reason. But, it has been strong enough on your mind to keep you coming for years now. Man-o-man, has this thread gotten away from discussion and opinion of wbb at OU. I am going to take a break in the hopes that the hateful comments about posters, players, and coaches will also take a break, and congeniality will replace the often hostile comments. I hope everyone will take a step back, relax, and be nice.

There are some post that I simply cannot directly acknowledge considering the asinine statements and queries. I could care less who anyone on this forum is outside of someone interested in discussing OU WBB....from the coaches, players, admins...anyone involved. Maybe there should be a "Sugar Coated Candy Coale" site if others are only interested in supporting a Coale brand in a positive light. I don't think it's a secret that I am a huge fan of WBB players from CA as I have lived most of my adult years here and followed it. So surprise, surprise! I'm a Paris twin fan...along with so many others. But the topic for this forum is OU WBB, right? I just call it like I see it.

It should not matter what is or is not required. The question should be why OU can not win a Big 12 championship any longer. Is it because Coale can not recruit the players needed to compete or is she inept as a coach? That is the 2 possibilities I see. I see her being complacent in recruiting and also resting on her laurels for things she did in the last decade.
