Ranks 9th on his team in scoring... 5.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. His teammate, Khadim Sy (6'10'' 240) is averaging 23 points and 8 rebounds per game...

Interesting....

Interesting....

how many minutes? and didn't the season just start?

Time to panic! Just like James not scoring in a scrimmage was cause for concern, stats from four games in a JUCO season is enough to convince me that this kid will be a disaster!

In all seriousness, nice to see that a few weeks after the staff pulled off a great class, they are back to being questioned by the board!

Nobody is ripping the staff.... Those are just weird stats for a guy going to OU.

Did the staff shut him down because he has already signed and they are trying to protect him from injury and get exposure to other players? Is that a thing in juco basketball?

Or maybe a guy who started at VT is taking away some minutes.

You, the JUCO Guru, are asking us?

Yep, don't know that one. However, it makes sense to me that there are players in juco because they aren't good enough to play elsewhere, and others who are there because they didn't get recruited heavily enough, and others because they didn't make the grades.

So take a guy like Corbin... already signed with a Big 12 program. Doesn't need any more exposure, or maybe approached the staff and said he didn't want to get hurt, etc.

It's either something like that or he isn't very good. One of the two.

Would you agree?

It could also be that he has a better player in front of him.
Or that it is still only 4 games into the long season.
Maybe he is coming off an injury and working his minutes up.
Who knows but the options are endless

LOL. Stupid

The guy with all the numbers(Sy) will be in the NBA in a couple of years.
Merritt is still working his way back from an injury and will play more as the
year goes along.

Merritt's highlight video looks like an athletic guy who dunks and blocks shots well. His shot looks pretty decent too. Isn't he coming off an injury? If so perhaps that explains his lack of statistics.

Yeah, Merritt had a stress fracture in his foot last season and only played in 5 games for a total of 5 minutes. He basically missed his entire freshman season. It makes sense they’re bringing him along slowly.
