Saw some chatter on the Scout board regarding Walker and his role with the team. It was mentioned that Isaiah is now the back up point guard on offense and Walker is playing more off the ball where he can focus on what he can do best to help this team win - score/attack.

Cousins has proven that he has greatly improved his handles since his less than stellar attempts at being a PG as a Fr.

Do you like the move/idea?

Obviously Cousins could still guard the other teams' taller wings if he and Walker are in the game. Though I will say that despite barely being 6-0, Walker is strong and physical enough to guard bigger guys.

I first noticed that look during the Baylor game. They were going thru a stretch with Woodard, Walker, and Buddy on the floor. I'm sure Walker, in his 1st year at D1 and under Kruger, is a lot more comfortable and better as an off guard.

Add in that Booker was missing in action for awhile and the move was almost necessary. Cousins will be fine moving over to the point 8-10 min. a game.

In Lon's weekly TV show with Toby he said that Walker is now playing on the wing, where he is more comfortable.
It doesn't seem like it's really going to be a big deal, not having a backup PG. When Woodard isn't in, all 3 guards handle the ball when they do the handoffs at the top of the key. Cousins and Walker can both handle it well enough to survive.

My question is, will Walker be able to play more PG next season, because I don't think we have anyone that can play point until Pritchard comes in.

Why would next season be different from this season? Woodard, Cousins and Walker will all still be around.

Woodard is only a sophomore. He is going to push lots of records at OU simply because he is a four year starter.

Yeah I meant at the backup PG position. Looks like we won't have one until Woodard is a Sr. But we should be fine with Cousins handling the ball.

I am a fan of Cousins but I am not very comfortable with him at backup PG. Fine in a lot of games but I guess next week ay WV will tell me more. If he survives that OK then I will feel a lot better about it.
