I think the NBA should be cancelled in America. Let them go play in China.

The sheriff in that county was quoted as saying the 17 year old approached him about helping to protect the downtown businesses. His response according to the news report was, “hell no!” He also said he was glad he responded that way after the shooting.

Even if that young man’s intentions were good, that by no means excuses what he did. Two people are dead. Still, you may be right in that somewhere in his misguided mind, he felt he had an obligation to help. I’m surprised we haven’t seen more of that. It can’t be easy to sit back and watch your city being destroyed. night after night.

Other officers gave him and other armed vigilantes water & said they appreciated their help.

Also the kid was from Illinois 30 minutes away.

As long as it's televised I will absolutely still watch and don't care which country they are playing in.

Robert Horry also spoke out... "It’s hard to tell your 14-year-old son that I worry about him when he walks out that door,” Horry said. “I have a 21-year-old son. I worry about him because Black men are an endangered species pretty much. These cops are just killing because they feel like if they don’t have their body cams on, they have a right... And I tell my kids all the time. I say, ‘Dude, I don’t care what’s going on because at the end of the day I want you coming home to me. If you have to lay down on the ground and they can kick you, beat you, at least you’re going to go to the hospital and you’re going to come home to me."

Maybe cops thought he was old enough...I don't know, wiith a lack of enforcement and the city burning, maybe they were desparate. The place is like a war zone

That was not my point. I said sometime ago the Dems may be surprised (and not in a good way) about the African American support of Trump in this election. I’m even more confident of that now.

Its not that simple. Plus i read some article (cant find it again) that there may be exceptions that allow him to own carry after all. Plus, even if breaking that law, that doesn't foreclose self defense altogether. I doubt the case goes as you've predicted

no surprises there....muslims are getting killed in China and is one of the more oppressive governments in history but they are cool. 9 unarmed black people are killed by police in a year and we are the worst most racist country in the world.

I said I'd watch on tv if they played for any country because I enjoy watching basketball. Who said China wasn't? Calling for police reform & then you claiming we are calling America the most racist country in the world is quite a leap.

You’re both right, of course. It would be interesting to know more about this kid. Assuming he has parents, did they know he was running around downtown with an AR in his hand? I wouldn’t be shocked to learn he’s from a fairly well-to-do family. Thanks to the pandemic, kids his age are bored. Who the heck knows why teenagers do stupid things sometimes. I was a teenager once, so I know what it was like. So do you. And, you’re right, he put an end to three lives, one of them his own.

This 1 year old was killed in Pittsburgh the other day and it is rather routine in the black community, but athletes accept it as routine and it IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. They would rather play politics then respond to the reality which is ripping apart their communities. Last year 7,500 black people were murdered and I wonder how many were unarmed. Attention whores are nothing but attention whores for they are a wayward group as they care a bout fame more than anything.
