Jacob Blake should have been manhandled for not complying at the very beginning. The 4 policemen had the opportunity to subdue him & made a mistake. Once he reached in the car I understand the officer's choice to shoot, but it should've never got to that point.

This kid is illegally walking around during a protest toting an AR, kills 2 people & shoots another, and is allowed to go home & turn himself in the next day.

It baffles me how you say the 1st guy got what he deserved & are defending the 2nd.

it is really easy actually. You look at the evidence and form an opinion.

I don't remember much fuss about the people killed in the seattle zone...i wonder why

I wonder, if the NBA did play in China, would they cancel games to protest the racial and social injustices in China? 2 million+ in concentration camps, forced sterilization, forced abortions, rape, religious persecution, etc. Or would they continue to take the Chinese money and keep their mouths shut?

No need to wonder, you already know the answer to your questions.

If the NBA and the players they represent were truly worried about black lives, they would focus their attention on cities like Chicago, Detroit and Baltimore where blacks are killing blacks at an alarming rate. Are they ignoring black deaths in these and other cities because the news media gives them a bigger platform in their coverage of a police shooting? Sure seems that way to me.

The black men who kill other black men are going to jail for the rest of their lives. The few bad policemen who are trained to protect & serve are committing police brutality and unjustly killing people are getting off free.

So spot on. I wish they were called out on this in a public fashion so they can expose themselves for what they are. Not much.

So it is only about punishment then?

He tried to give himself up to the cops and they let him walk right by.

Yet again, not an accurate account of what happened. First, it was a dynamic and dangerous environment. Second, when he did that, the officers rushed to assist the victims and secure the scene. You were comparing 2 different incidents and trying to compare them side by side as if they were the same. They are not the same at all. However, this entire 6 month ordeal hasn’t relied on facts at all, but fear.

I was so hungry for basketball, I was actually exited when the NBA decided to continue the playoffs in the bubble. I was even willing to tolerate kneeling arm in arm as a sign of solidarity.

Now, I couldn’t care less if they play again, ever! I’m sure I won’t be missed, but I’m through with NBA basketball! I have a right to protest, too.

You are not alone Ada...basically everyone at my office is saying they are done.
I'm thinking of boxing up my thunder shirts and sending them to Clay bennett

We need to train/educate our officers much better, better pay, & fix officers scared to snitch on other bad officers. Then we actually have to hold the officers accountable for police brutality & unjust killings.

A huge reason people react so much when this happens is that:
1) they've seen officers blatantly lie about what happened & video exposes their police reports
2) Video clearly shows the officers in the wrong
3) Officer gets off

So when these instances occur there is a huge reaction every time, not just the clearly unjust ones, because people don't trust the police or the system to do the right thing.

It's exactly what happened.

And now Ada and others will cancel them, for cancelling themselves.

Are you seeing a side of me you don’t like, abd? ;)

Sheepdogs1 is right, the NBA and their players cancelled themselves. I gave them plenty of room to win me over, even went against my personal convictions about honoring the flag. I was well on my way to becoming a Thunder fan until this latest move to get attention.

Does anybody really believe the players would have staged a walkout if Obama was still the President, or if Biden was in that position? I’m fed up with playing politics! And, you can bet your last dollar these political threads would not exist on any forum if I was in charge. I may be old and out of touch, but I’m also right. These politically charged threads were and still are a big mistake!

So what did you want the cops to do in this blake case? All tackle him and wrestle him to the ground?

How do you know he wouldn't die anyways from strain ala eric garner?
