Melvin Ejim (6'6'' 210) committed to ISU over the weekend. He chose ISU over Boston College, Butler, and Providence. He received an ESPN grade of 93 and is ranked the #20 small forward in the country by ESPN.

ESPN Eval:
This Canadian has a very diverse skill set which makes him an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses. He has the ability to use his very quick first step to drive past defenders and get into the paint with relative ease. Once at the rim, he uses his strength and leaping ability to take contact from defenders, adjust in the air, and still finish off the shot. If defenders sag off him in efforts to take away his penetration, Ejim will stick the perimeter jump shot, with range that extends well beyond the 3-point line. He has a nice, high release, with a good follow-through on the shot. Ejim also fades just a little on the shot, which does not adversely affect his jumper, but it makes it increasingly difficult for defenders to block. He has a good body and the strength required battle with the big guy on the inside. Ejim can also impose his will through on the perimeter defensively as well as offensively by using his good strength and rather developed body. Ejim, given his strength and athleticism, does a very good job of rebounding the ball out of area as well he does in his area on both ends of the court. Ejim competes with very tough on both ends of the court, but has the ultimate poker face, rarely changing expression even if the action intensifies significantly on the court.

Wow! Way to go ISU! Keep up the recruiting! Help to take down the B12N power!

I like their future with Chris Colvin, Melvin Ejim, Antwon Oliver, LA Pomlee, and Justin Hamilton. They obviously need to recruit more playmakers to add to all these freshman (and one soph) but he has shown he can recruit.

However, if he doesnt win this year he will be on the hot seat.
