Clog the lane by sagging off of shooters except mini me (only shooter they have). Baylor half-ass did this. Ridley has been a beast lately. If we limit his touches we win going away.
Thoughts?

Yes. I think the way we played KU with a hard double will be the way we stop Ridley. Against KU we did it with intensity and purpose, and it really made it tough on KU.

And I'll add we have to guard the lane a little better than we did against KU... Towards the end we just let wiggins and towed the end Tharpe, get to the lane too easily. That Isaiah Taulor makes his living getting into the paint.

I think a similar game plan will work against UT. That is, as long as we don't lose track of Felix and give him wide open shots from three. He's the one who can hurt us from deep. Holmes, too, to a lesser extent.

Loved the D against KU for most of the game. Really just liked how hard OU played. If OU plays that hard, they will be fine against UT. OU's best D might be transition offense. Not many teams, sans KU, want to run with OU. If OU forces the tempo, UT may try to slow down and then our D in the half-court with the hard trap and aggressive play in the passing lanes becomes more effective.

Outside of D, it's rebounding and shooting a good percentage from 3. This is the same formula for every game - in my opinion - for this team.

In Big 12 play OU has shot 42% from three in wins compared to shooting 30% in losses.

the doubling was really excellent. great execution dang near every time that game

The guy that worries me on Texas is Isaiah Taylor. He's quick and can hurt you with the floater. We have to stay in front of him. Regarding Ridley, he was fairly non-existent against KU and ISU.... but didn't see the game last night so I'm not sure how he looked. Texas will play hard, but if we solid interior defense, we should be fine.

Not sure how he looked cuz i didnt watch the game, however ridley did have 20 points going 7-13 from the field 6-9 from the line. Also had 10 boards, 5 off 5 def. Did this in 27 min likely due to foul trouble (ended up with 4)

I agree about Felix, he was knocking down some shots last night. I think he had 5 or 6 treys. also, we need to be boxing out Holmes, he can go and get those offensive boards.

He hit 7 treys, was 7-12 from the field 7-9 from three

I believe you're spot on. We're guard oriented, of course, and we almost always win with perimeter shooting – more specifically, threes. If our treys fall – and I believe they will – and Spangler gets around 12-14 rebounds, the whorns go back to Austin with their bovine tails between their legs.
