deja vu - Matt Barnes evaluated as

While I agree that Barnes is a great value (thanks to playing on a knucklehead discount salary, a la J.R. Smith), he's not worth 7.1 wins. The same goes with Jamison and his 5.4 wins produced. That wins-produced metric seems to inflate the value of role players.

I question the credibility of a system that has Jason Kidd and Reggie Evans producing more wins than Blake Griffin and Kobe Bryant despite the latter two playing far more minutes.

yeah that does seem kinda messed up doesn't it.

I liked it because it put some meat behind my contention that Barnes is by far the best 6th man candidate this year. He's been the Clippers savior all year (and that's not taking anything away from CP3 because they're not even in the game without him).

Barnes has been nothing short of amazing this year. He's their Nick Collison and then some - and I think Collison is essential for OKC's success.

Barnes was a great pick up for the Clippers. He fits the "Lob City" style a lot better than he ever did an aging Laker team that barely remembers what run and gun basketball looks like anymore.

On a similar topic, I never thought we would see the day that the Clippers are not only the best team in LA, but one of the best in the NBA. I remember how bummed out we where when Blake was drafted by what most of us viewed as the NBA equivalent of Siberia.

it's the difference between night and day with CP3 there and Sterling looking to upgrade now vice looking to scrimp.

I was horribly depressed when Blake went to the Clips, now I think it was great because he's a major part of the change.

Good point about Barnes. He was the main reason the Clippers were taking Memphis down to the wire in the first half; he was scorching from the 3-point line.

I haven't looked at their cap situation, but if the Clippers could've kept both Barnes and Reggie Evans, that would've been huge. Evans didn't get enough credit for his role defending Memphis' bigs in the 2012 postseason.

He sure did a lot of nothing as a Laker. Was so glad when he rolled.......

He and his Lob City brethren can now join the rest of the hoopsters in LA on the banks of his favorite fishing hole. Pretty boy hoops never work in the playoffs.
