Did anyone picture the season going like this?

We were 6th in the preseason poll but we will be lucky to finish 9th at this point. I sure didn't see this coming, but did anyone else?

This may be as bad as the team after Griffin but certainly not as bad as the one or 2 after it though they are getting close.

9th? Who finishes behind us? Not trying to be even more negative or an A** but I actually don't know since we lost to TCU. Texas?

Definitely not. Wouldn't be so bad if they could have finished off some games in the early season. Overall I was happy to see we weren't outmatched physically or athletically by KS. Talents' there, just need some experience.

This season (record wise) will be far worse than Capel's '10 or '11 teams. I knew it was going to be a rebuilding year, but never thought it would reach this epic level of a collapse.

Not even freaking close. I had OU winning around 20 games this year and a tourney birth. Not staring at a 0-16 conference record in the face.

Post play on both ends disappoints me the most but there is plenty of disappoint at all positions

Yes. Though I thought we'd have a couple more wins. Maybe we would've with JW.

I'm surprised for sure, thought it would squeeze into the NCAA Tournament and set the foundation for 2018.

Now, I'm hoping they just win a game.

I figured we'd struggle a bit. With JW and KL back with 3 or 4 guys that played some last year...expected Doolittle and McGusty even Freeman to pick up some slack.

I mean other teams have talented FR come in a contribute right away....right? :facepalm

I really don't see OU winning more than 3 or 4 conf games, all home games. tcu, isu, ut, tt maybe osu,

that's 5-13...if we're lucky. I'd say no game is better than a 50% chance of winning...from what I see now. Yes, we played the #2 team in the country "really tough" but then got blown out by bu at home as well. This team is a Jekyll and Hyde team.

Long season...

I certainly didn't think we were going to the Final Four again this year but didn't think it was going to be this bad. At the beginning of the year I felt we would finish in the 5-7 to range in the conference and being a one and done or two and out NCAA team. It's a tough rebuilding year but fully believe we will be a lot better next year.

Not even close. I thought we would have some bumps for sure but not this. I thought we would be a 6-9 seed in the tourney. I envisioned Jordan being jordan. CJ being a star. Averaging 15 ppg and shooting lights out. I thought Lattin would be dominant in the paint as a defender and add a nice mid range jumper to his game, similar to what spangler and osby did. Doolittle is as advertised. Mcgusty I am very pleased with. Mcnease has added a little offense to his game so that is exciting. I'm pleased with Odomes' jump he has made this year. I expected more from strong moore.

I guess overall we aren't too far off when looking at the individual pieces. But as a team, we haven't clicked yet. CJ has been a big dissappointment. I'm sure it is mostly my expectations but man I thought he was ready to make a big jump.

I think the most discouraging thing is the bad defense at times, the inconsistancies and the low iq. I guess that is all to be expected for a young team but I thought we were going to be a very good defensive team.

You mean picture your best player and all big 12 type player missing multiple games ....no.

You realize the last time we beat kanas??? We did for a half with a YOUNG team and our best player about 75%.

The freshman have played BETTER as a group then I had hoped for .

Did you expect Lattin to miraculously turn into a offensive stud ?? He's a shotblocker , that's it , that's all he ever will be .

The big disappointment is James . his play has really hurt this team .

Again with a healthy Woodard we have another 2-3 wins in conference and just about where I thought we would be , as did the coaches and media .

The freshman are probably playing at a higher level then they should this wary and James is playing worse ...they kinda offset the each other .

The problem is Woodard , if he's 100% then we are right on schedule, or honestly about right where we should be

Woodard missing games isn't/wasn't the problem. We were playing like poop with him playing.

No, I did not expect us to fall off this much. OU basketball is better than this.

We weren't playing well without woodard but that was kind of expected. But once he was out, it was obvious what the main problem was with this team

Expected this team to make the tourney, so this season has been a disappointment. This team could take off if it learned how to close out a game and win. Never seen a team blow so many big second half leads (last night wasn't a surprise mind you).

I do find it humorous that this board had a couple of threads about the football team and people giving up on that team and then bam, they sweep through the Big 12 and finish in the top 5.
