Does OU have a scholarship left and will they use it

they are saving it Coach Kruger said.

now if someone they love jumps out... Im sure thatll change. I assume itll be used in 2016.

I was hoping he would use it on a transfer that can red shirt this upcoming season, then help stop the bleeding of losing Buddy, Cousins, Walker, and Spangler next year

there won't be much bleeding ..

They have a scholarship but aren't recruiting anybody.

I guess I'm slightly disappointed we're not at least considering a plug-and-play big man.

I know we have Manyang, Spangler and Lattin, but after that it's pretty thin, and Manyang is still somewhat of an unknown.

Give us another Tashawn-like guy and we're as legit a Final Four contender as OU has probably ever had.

They got rid of the immediate eligibility unless you have graduated so we can't get a tashawn this year

You forgot about McNeace.

I was going to say that with the run that I expect to have this upcoming season, we should wait to use that scholarship. We already will have four at our disposal from Spangler, Hield, Cousins, and Walker, though, and could easily add another one or two if somebody left the program. Then again, we've already used two of those up. I'm not sure what to think, but thankfully I don't make the decision, or have any hand in it.

I can't see any reason to turn away one of those graduate transfers that would immediately be eligible, though. Even as the 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench, it could be the difference in winning conference or going to the Final Four. This team is so close.

Co-Sign on getting a transfer if there is a good fit still available.

We have 1 unused ship. 4 more seniors graduate. Cole will likely go after next year. Leaving 6 open ships.

We have 2 committed to Payton, Doolittle.

Leaving 4 open ships still For 2016 class. I expect a impact transfer to be picked up after next year.

Completely agree.

Not at all, but I continue to hear he probably won't be a huge factor next season.

Being able to play defense and rebound 3-5 minutes per game may not seem like "a huge factor" but those few minutes could be really important for giving Spangler a break or keeping any of the bigs out of foul trouble. Those few minutes add real depth.

I'm with Colton on this one. Spangler will start and get 30 minutes a game. Manyang and Lattin can split the other post, but I expect a lot of Buford's playing time next year to be inside to take advantage of his power game. I could see him backing up Spangler in addition to some time on the wing. I don't see a lot of need for a 5th post player, but McNeace might get a few minutes every other game or so kind of like Bennett did this year.

With ncaa getting rid of immediately eligibility shouldn't we get that transfer now? Since he would have to redshirt

The coaches might not be planning on using the scholarship, but I doubt they're not at least keeping their ears to the ground.

They still hope to use the scholarship but they aren't recruiting anybody at this time.
