Back in the days my high school football coach would have went to jail with some of the tactics he used. Some I still would not have a problem with, but some well maybe it stretched behavior at little bit to far.
We have discussed this on this board before, but to get someone into the gym to better themselves can be an impossible chore. Just my opinion, but it boils down to the individual has to want to be a gym rat and become better. all the pushing will usually go towards the negative side.
This is football, but can be applied to every sport something Bob Stoops said about Michiah Quick:
“Michiah has really had a good spring,” said Coach Stoops. “He has become a student of the game and has really been working on his craft. He has put himself into a good position, and if he continues to work on it we expect big things from Michiah this fall.”
This was a kid out of California that was a 4 star recruit, ranked 9th national ans 6th in the state of California, but couldn't make the field due to putting the extra work in to become better at your position. To me that is the biggest problem in our younger generation and that is being challenged. It doesn't set with some well.
I remember a story my sister told me about my nieces. Love them to death, but when it comes to sports you need to earn playing time. My sister got in the coaches face because he was not playing my nieces in a school basketball game the same amount of time some of the other players were getting. When I asked her about what they have done to show the coach they deserved the playing time. I was told it is a school function and everyone is supposed to get the same playing time. I believe that to be true in a lot of different things. The challenged just isn't there.
