Dungee Transferring

She and Mulkey haven't gotten along since AAU. This is why she left cy fair. I told sybrite this 2 years ago but it was said that I was just starting rumors. Other things were told to sybrite but I will walk quietly on that

Who left Cy Fair?

It would be much easier to follow some of these threads if people would use names instead of pronouns. :D

I follow both girls on instagram, Skilled I've believed in you more now because you do have a lot of information with AAU ball, but this is a lie! Both kids are tagged in serval pictures together and often are arm and arm... I'm not sure why you are trying to Paint Mulkey as this bad person but it is becoming a bit to much. From what I hear is that Dungee and Sherri didn't see eye to eye on some of the things Sherri asked her to work on like shot selection.

Most schools remove a kid from the roster once once they transfer, nothing new here.... looking at the roster maybe Dungee was going to start, but you never no... it's possible Rich will be ready to go and make an impact this year.

Only in your wildest dreams based on her 5 minutes playing time in 3 games last year. Rich should have everyone in a smh state including Sherri.

It's commonsense that if they didn't get along both wouldn't have came to OU... Rich is someone who Dungee spent a lot of time with...

I believe that is correct. If she transfers to another school in the Big 12, it may be two years.

Even Lon who doe$ not play the AAU game$ to the degree of other$, has built excellent relationships with AAU connection$ in Texa$ and el$ewhere.

Fighting AAU hoop$ is like fighting the tide.

That is a relationship that Sherri needs to mend. AAU coaches don't seem to have the negative effect on most other teams like they do regarding Sherri and the Sooners.

You have to work within the boundaries of the sport as it is set up, not as you would like it to be set up, especially if you are a head coach at a major program.

DFW elite is the problem, I believe this is the AAU team Sherri has had a falling out with ... I'm not sure OU has ever landed a kid from that program, last one was Courtney Walker and she ended up going to A&M. Good thing is that gone are the days of DFW elite having the Griners, the Sims, the Jeffersons and the Turners, the talent in Texas is spreading around and you have teams Sherri has better relationships with like Texas united and SA finest...

I'm just going to say this and get it off my chest. I am THOROUGHLY PISSED AT DUNGEE AND SHERRI ABOUT THIS!

This kind of thing is absolutely devastating to the program and it can not be allowed to happen.

Both parties are to blame.

Dundee should have gotten a better feel for what Sherri would demand and how she worked before committing and determined if she could and would be willing to do whatever coaches told her to do.

Sherri needs to make it clearer to prospects what she is going to demand, how she operates and the things she isn't going to allow. Apparently, Dungee couldn't or wouldn't do this or Sherri's demands after the season were unreasonable and possibly, stupid (Unreasonable I would believe. Stupid, I would not. Biased or unfair I might believe).

This is a major setback and it will impact recruiting this year and for the next two. It will impact the girls currently on the squad. It will fuel negative recruiting by other coaches to new heights.

It makes OU a weaker team with less potential...the whole 9 yards. It tarnishes the reputation of Sherri and the program because it is a clear indicator that the program is teetering on the edge of being a huge mess.

It's just stupid and maddening. Inexcusable.

There was a big show case in Walnut Creek ca, OU was there, if Sherri can get a pipeline back to California she won't need a strong connection to All the Texas AAU teams only a few, she also has a relationship with Team essence out of Florida the same program that Whitney Hand played for.

Since OU just received a commitment from Veitenheimer who is a member of Texas Elite, the coach's comments of that team doesn't seem to reflect a bias against Sherri. Indeed, two other members of that team seem to be considering OU.

Are we dealing with individual AAU coaches who have their own agendas, which probably don't involve the best interests of the athlete?

We don't really know what this is all about yet. It could be an AAU coach that thinks he can get her mother a better job if she is elsewhere. It could be a promise that she will be the next Plum if she is elsewhere.

Transfers seem to be happening a lot more recently. We've had Peyton and Morgan come in. We lost Chelsea. I don't know that the earth will shake any more with her departure than with Peyton's arrival.

Regarding the feud between Mulkey and Dungee--first I have heard of it. My original objection to a poster was the first post which indicated that we would be "disappointed" with Mulkey and Dungee. This is my first disappointment with either. Of course, since the intent was to imply that they weren't as good as we had thought, I'm not sure why we should be so concerned about losing someone who was to have been a "disappointment." Need to define whether to gloat over our losing someone whom he didn't value highly in the first place or gloat because she was better than he projected, and now we have lost her.

He/she may be knowledgeable about AAU ball, but that in no way changes the fact that, when it comes to talking OU basketball on this site, skilledserv is nothing more than a troll.

No question that with most arguments it take two to tango. But that being said we as fans do not have enough information to point fingers unless, of course, we have been a part of all the conversations between Dungee and Sherri.

We fans must depend upon the rumor mill, half truths, twitter and innuendos for our sources as Sherri keeps everything very QT. But for certain Dungee moving on is damaging to the program in the short term as far a we can see. But then again, Dungee could have been a cancer whose departure improved the team we will never know.

Based on what I know to be fact I will accept her departure as a loss and ask why knowing I am not going to get the real answer. But I do consider 3 transfers in 6 years a big red flag.

+1

I'm very bummed to hear this. Chelsea was one of my favorites and I really thought the future was bright for her as a Sooner. She brought a toughness that we really needed.

However, as someone already mentioned, she went to 5 different schools between 8th grade and graduating high school. I think this transfer says more about her than it does about the state of the program.

We're suddenly pretty thin at the guard position.

The only guards we return with significant playing time are:
Maddie
Gabbi
LaNesia

I'm confident Ana will come in ready to contribute immediately.

Penzo, Shaina, and Rich are all question marks.

I probably would have played Penzo a lot more than Sherri did. She is a better ball-handler than TT. I think Shaina will develop quickly. I expect her to be better than TT as a freshman. I have no clue about Morgan.
