Egor Koulechov Visiting

This hurts!

I think he was the missing piece and would have been a difference maker for us next year.

So he closed down his recruitment after visiting with Florida, and didn't continue with his final visits? I guess that's validation for the idea that it's a bad sign when players continue to take visits.

Ah cmon now. Really? ;)

How did this guy become the missing piece? I've never heard of him, nor seen him play. All of a sudden he's the guy to take us over the top?

Recruiting. (spit)

I don't think he would have started at OU next year ..

But he would have contributed significantly and played significant minutes.

I'm not sure he'd have started either but he'd have been a good guy coming off the bench. Let's not pretend he'd have played C.J. Cole minutes either.

We don't know the motivation around "why" he chose UF, but I'll use this as my recent example of why I don't agree with the OU fans that aren't/weren't upset with our terrible recent season.

OU basketball isn't Duke. Or Kentucky. Or Kansas. OU basketball isn't OU football. When we fall off, and have years like we just had, people start forgetting about us. Or sleeping on us. Or doubting our program. The best thing for OU basketball is to keep momentum rolling. Had we done that.....had we fielded a team that even if they were not a team that could contend for the Big 12 or more than perhaps a single win in the Dance, I can't help but think we'd have been in a better position to land this kid.

If he is leaving Rice b/c he wants to go Dancing, UF is certainly more of a certain bet to do that next year than OU. That might not necessarily be true had OU snuck into the Dance this year.

Edit: Another way to look at it. OU has missed the Dance 4 of the last 8 seasons. 8 years ago this kid would have been 14 years old. Just a thought.

Can't blame the guy for picking FL, winters down there a bit warmer than in Norman..Much more eye candy..if that matters for him.

I don't know that he would have started next year......but he probably had more defenses set up to defend against him, yet essentially doubled Odome's ppg and rpg. Three points shooter shooting 47%. Yeah, he probably would've rode the bench.....

Well, I guess my Israeli co-worker was correct. I'll be conferring with him in regards to any future OU Israel basketball questions.

Thoughts on Lazenby visiting, vbdad?

I know nothing about him. Apparently can score at least at the juco level. Not sure how high of a level Northern plays against. We need guys that are willing shooters.
