Egor Koulechov Visiting

I guess i'll just have to trust you Coach. Can you expound on his defense/athleticism/handles/etc?

Ran a lot of SG at juco. Avg 20+, defense is ok not going wow you at all. Decent athlete but definitely a below the rim player. Handles solid. He's a scorer. Scorers neglect other areas at times.

That being said, he's a backup plan.

I give up trying to post on this board no wonder you don't have many members.

HUH? This Board is very lively at times...good luck finding an OU message board with more knowledgeable hoops posters. Plus, you will get better hoops info here than you will from James Hale.

If no one responds to your post in your obviously narrow window of time, it just means we're all waiting for an answer to your question. Let patience be your friend.

So you waited an entire 13 minutes before deciding someone should have answered you?

It's my fault. I was supposed to be sitting here waiting for him to post. If he leaves and never comes back, feel free to blame me.

The sad thing is that I knew the answer to his question -- when would we know for sure -- but, alas, I've forgotten. If I'd just been here to post in that long, 13 minute window between 9:16 and 9:29 last night, not only would everyone know the answer to this pressing question but we also wouldn't have lost a valuable member of this community. I don't know what we'll ever do without his insight -- 11 whole posts since 2013.

I think chuckb is actually a whorn trying to destroy our program with his silence. bastage.

Per the twitter world, Florida coach Mike White and an assistant are meeting with him today. Either way, this should be over soon given both staffs would have had him on campus and then met with him in Houston. Guess we'll see.

I'd feel better about our chances if Florida wasn't so good last year but I still like the fact that he's got this connection with Hartman. Hopefully that, and this team's potential, pays off.

That's the big question here....what is Koulechov actually looking for with his next team? I don't think either team has too much of a leg up talent wise and what they are bringing back. Florida is the hotter name of the two based off of last year but that can obviously change in a heartbeat good or bad. You would think that Hartman being on staff would be the one factor that Florida can't match but that's assuming he has as good as relationship with coach Hartman as we all hope he does. Like I said, either way, it looks like one of these two teams should know soon if they have added a quality piece or still have a decision to make in regards to an open spot for next year.

Florida is a much higher rated school, has a better basketball program, and they have a young coach who has gone 29-8, 27-9, 21-15, and 27-9 in his last 4 years of coaching, and is coming off an Elite 8 appearance.

Don't know much about Gainesville vs Norman, but I assume Gainesville is pretty nice too.

Gainesville is fairly close to the ocean but it's pretty redneck. I would say both cities are fairly comparable. In Norman you are much closer to a pro (NBA) city (OKC) and a major metropolitan area (DFW) than in Gainesville.

I was just informed by my Israeli lab-mate that Egor will be going to UF. He doesn't know him but said any Israeli would choose Florida over Oklahoma (state-wise).
