Egor Koulechov Visiting

ISU can offer tons of opportunity but they should be down a bit, losing four starters.

ISU he could play more minutes probably, but be on a worse team! ISU has a better atmosphere too.

Sounds like we should really want him and I do, just don't get too carried away with the 47% 3pt. pct. The year before was 34%. If he hits the average of the two years that would be fine. Hoping for the 47% unless he goes to ISU.

He had a good visit to Florida. LK needs to do some great work on this visit.

I don't see that as a bad thing: a) He didn't commit to Florida during his visit. b) Our coaches get a second chance to close the deal.

Agreed. Many here were anxious when he didn't commit to us after visiting Norman so now no (additional) reason to be anxious after hearing he had a good visit to Florida. I admit that I don't want him visiting Ames but there's nothing I can do about it so at least our coaching staff is getting a chance to visit him in Houston after his visit to Florida. It's clear we want him and I still like our chances considering his history with Coach Hartman.

^This....I'm not surprised at all if the rumor is he had a good visit to Florida. I'm pretty sure we all would have a good visit to Florida. On top of that, Mike White has things rolling pretty well right now down there. They have some spots open with guys leaving and a decent team returning as well. If there is a meeting today, I'm guessing LK and OU will find out if there is still a legitimate interest and if not then move on to one of the other one or two transfers that are left out of 700....

I'm more worried about Florida than Iowa State. The cyclones have very little tradition -- no final 4's -- compared to us and are probably behind us in the Big 12 pecking order of best programs (I put OU just behind KU; ISU is somewhere after that). OU has better facilities (yes Hilton is better than the LNC but facilities is more than just the place they play games) and Kruger is a much better coach than Prohm.

It's a little too early to make a call on that one. He's not Hoiberg, but Prohm has done nothing but excellent work in his 6 years. It will be interesting to see now that the last batch of Hoiberg's guys are leaving. Had a pretty good class, though.

I am also more worried about Florida than ISU, but not for the reasons you stated. A senior transfer has one year to make it count. He's not going to care who has more tradition, who has a better head coach, or who has a better home-court atmosphere (thank heavens for that one). He cares about who is going to have the best chance to go deep into March, and if there is an opening for significant playing time. With all that ISU loses, I think making it to the NCAA Tournament is a best-case scenario for them. OU and Florida have bigger goals, so I believe it comes down to one of us two (unless Villanova is also in the mix). We will know soon enough.

I'm also more worried about Florida than ISU but I'd rather him choose between us and 1 other school than us and 2. Our odds go up from 33% to 50%. ISU also has great tradition and will have playing time to spare and can claim to be the Big 12 tournament champs...again.

I think Florida is our toughest competitor but it wouldn't shock me to see him end up at ISU.

If they don't get him. Lazenby will likely be plan B. Penn state offer recently.

Should it be a concern that we are on the verge of offering a plan B that when a poster brought up the prospect he was laughed off the board and ridiculed?
