Have we, or could we, approach the greek system to see if we can get their involvement?

I would think at minimum they could require their pledges to go to the games and dress up funny or something and tell them to be loud. If you did this for a while other students will see how wild the students are being and maybe more will jump on board.

I'm guessing you have never been in a frat because they have study hall every 5 nights a week (Sunday thru Thursday) for like 3-4 hours a night for the pledges. They need as many pledges to reach the minimum GPA for initiation as they can possibly get.

Also, no way will you get them to "dress up funny", unless you offer free kegs to those who attend and dress funny. Maybe that's what they should do. :ez-laugh:

When I was a pledge (89/90), I skipped study hall one night to watch the Sooners play KSU (with Lon Kruger as HC and Steve Henson at PG). I was busted by some members and was hazed pretty good at the next pledge meeting. That pledge meeting was the Sunday night after we beat #1 ranked Mizzou by 17 points in the LNC. The study hall monitor was so mad I skipped his study hall, he tried to tell me I had to give my student ticket to the KU game (which was 2 nights later) to a member. Another member overheard this and didn't allow it to happen. So, instead I basically was given detention and had to be at the frat house every day at 8 am and couldn't go back to my dorm until 5 pm. I could only leave to attend class. At night, one of the members made me stand with a basketball over my head for like 30 minutes. He didn't like me much because I basically told him to f-off. :ez-laugh:

I actually was a pledge and for events like this changes can be made. And it wouldnt be hard at all getting the pledges to dress up funny. Its simple, the kids that go and attend and play the part dont have to do the dirty stuff while cleaning the house.

Kruger visited with most if not all of the greek houses and other campus organization to peek student interest. Also at each game they announce a student organization winner (usually a greek system) that receives an award/recognition. I think it is $100 (don't know the manner of the award specifically). Kruger has made a significant investment of time trying to motivate student attendance.

Aside from giving students free admittance the next step is a winning streak and contention for conference and NCAA tournament recognition. It is what it is!!!
