As all of us know it was extremely strange to only have two fouls called against Villanova the entire first half. There is no doubt that it affected the game as it allowed them to play aggressive Defense the entire game. Tony Padilla one of the officials from the Final Four was pitching in the Home Run Derby the other night and they mentioned he was an official for the OU-Villanova game. Supposedly only the best officials are picked for the Final Four but here is what an Air Force sports board graded him and all the WAC conference officials.

Villanova is well coached on D.
Low wide stance, active hands always moving up, you get called for slapping down, but rarely slapping up. Their white guard, Ryan D?? is a great defensive player. He was undrafted, but signed a 2 yr. contract with guaranteed money with San Antonio Spurs this week. OU should teach D like this guy played.

Ryan arcidiacono or something like that.

They played lights out so it would not have mattered.

Having said that, they were fouling the shvt out of us all night and the refs let them abuse us.

I don't care how well you are coached, no team that plays aggressive defense every fouls only twice in a half.

Three people from this board could have ref'd that game, and we'd have still gotten our butts kicked.

Yup. Villanova absolutely could not miss. It was just their night.

I agree they were fouling, but they were fouling in ways that did not get called.
This should be teachable moments for our coaches.

When you get to the final 4 and the championship game, the refs " Let them Play" It happens every year.

the cats were just too good that day..the refs couldn't help OU even if they tried

What a ridiculous grade. First of all...Air Force sports board? This is one Air Force fan with a grudge. Second, he provides no support or explanation at all for his D grade. "If you're the underdog (as Air Force always is, btw) you're hosed." Even if it mattered and affected the game, this 1 guy's ridiculous opinion shouldn't be given any credence whatsoever.

Are you saying Vinny78 posts on the Air Force board as well?
