Fire Porter Moser

same building....imagine that
LNC is tired and dated….

But it’s not the building.

The crowd even last night was wanting to explode for this team. I thought we showed up and was doing our part even with where this program is. There is still some diehard core support.

And that am those highlights from 2016 on the scoreboard shows it’s all about having something to get behind.

When there is that the LNC can be full and rocking.

they have PLENTY of money to buy him out

anyone that says otherwise is either not telling the truth or has an agenda ..
They may have it, but are not wanting to use it on basketball. There is no reason to let this abortion take the whole season. Just end it now. The fact they aren't tells me they don't want to.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. You know nothing. I get it. You’ve been saying this for weeks because you’re so afraid that Moser won’t be fired. It’s like battered fan syndrome but you need to stop lashing out. Just let the process play out.

Like I mentioned in another thread (or maybe this one?), OU fans filled up LNC the night before for women's gymnastics. It was #1 vs #2 in the nation, but it was women's gymnastics. Men's basketball is much more popular as a sport.

Our fan base hasn't become knowledgeable or spoiled about softball because they love the sport. They love the sport because OU dominates it.

If OU is nationally relevant, the fans will show up, even to LNC.

*I am glad the new arena is coming, though.

Hopefully porter loser goes defcon-1 and starts hurling insults at the admin and university now so we can fire him for cause lol
He likely won't tho. I'm sure his agent and lawyers have had that chat with him.

"Aside from the fact you can't coach a lick please dont give them the ammo to fire you with cause ".

LNC was an awesome venue when full (80’s, 2000’s, when we won a lot, etc.). but hard to fill for any cupcakes in any year. Field house feels better because it was consistently easier to fill and felt like you were on top of the action. Maybe we can get a Phog, Cameron Indoor, etc clone next time and not a giant arena.

It was the in thing years ago to put "for sale" signs on the lawn of a coach you wanted fired.

My issue with the note above about shot selection is that he wouldn't have said it if we got a different shot on the last possession. But the shot selection wasn't the issue throughout the second half -- it was a symptom. The real cause was a lack of movement and execution well before the shot. Standing around watching Dayton or Pack dribble and take a tough shot. Run a set, show toughness in setting and holding screens, make good cuts, post up and get the ball low to open up kick-outs, post-to-post passes (of which we missed a half dozen or so), etc.

Lots of little things could be said about this team, but the main thing in my opinion is that they just don't play very good or inspired defense. This is an outlier for a Moser team. Could be lots of explanations. Could be lots of reason, I tend to think it is he is afraid to not play kids that have been paid lots of money. In other words, he is scared or doesn't think he can hold kids to account for lack of effort. When you are making a lot of money, being threatened with sitting on the bench does scare mean much. I have never thought of Moser as a great coach. I have thought he was a good coach. There are lots of things about his coaching style that I don't favor, but fans each have their own ideas of what they like and want to see, and you can't please everyone. Previously at OU, I thought his sum of his teams was better than the individual parts he had to work with. This team is the opposite. Lack of accountability is destructive of any form of organization or team.

I only got to watch the first half of the Tenn game. We played well, but didn't look too inspired to me. I didn't get to watch the second half.

Moser is a good guy and I wish him well. When the season is over, I will be surprised if OU doesn't move on and try someone else. It won't bother me if they don't. If they change coaches, that coach will find the OU job challenging for lots of reasons that have been discussed to death on this board for 30 years. JMO but I don't think you can succeed like most of you expect without a substantial financial commitment and new gym (which will be costly to). Hope I am wrong on both counts.

you're wrong. you don't need a new building to win. billy and kelvin and lon had no problem winning in the building we have.
and you don't need a full arena to win.
you just need a good coach and good players. then the fans will show up.

he is also a coach that has not had any accountability with shot selection all season long ..

Yep. LNC isn't hurting the women. Or the gymnastics team(s).
