In the first Bedlam game this year, they went with a bold strategy, that was two pronged. The first part was to give Brady Manek as many wide open 3's as possible, the second was to clear the lane to allow for as many dunks as possible. Allowing the best 3pt shooter in the country to be wide open, and clearing the lane for dunks might some a little unconventional, but Mike Boynton clearly had a thing or two up his sleeve. He must know something we mere mortals do not.

Let's take a look at the strategy via photo here... Every one of these photos is a different shot.

Now, the second part of Boyntons defensive strategy was the lane.

We will see this weekend how Boynton adjusts... the strategy of wide open 3's and wide open dunks didn't work very well in the first game, but we will see what adjustments are made.

I think their lineup has changed about every game since as well.

It's hard to beat stellar coaching like that.. but I have hope! /s

oswho is playing better now than two or three weeks ago. They will give us all we want in Stillwater and perhaps more.

Since it's Bedlam basketball next, hope you don't mind some OSU basketball updates.

Earlier today, Coach Boynton announced that freshman Chris Harris Jr. was having season ending knee surgery.

The Cowboys have five regular-season games left before the Big 12 Conference tournament. Harris has been a big part of OSU’s defensive scheme’s but Boynton said the team has adjusted to playing without him.

“We haven’t had him for a little bit now so I think we’ve adjusted OK,” Boynton said. “Obviously, it cuts down on the depth that you have and something that can be important as you go into the later parts of the season.”

Also, Frank Bonner II noted that OSU has had a problem this season playing well both halves. Specific to Tuesday's OSU at WVU game...

Part of the problem was the fact that West Virginia coach Bob Huggins made an adjustment to go with a bigger lineup in the second half. Forward Derek Culver, who’s 6-foot-10, only played five minutes in the first half but played 15 in the second on his way to grabbing nine of his 10 rebounds and recording two blocks in the final 20 minutes.

Gabe Osabuohien also played significantly more minutes in the second half. He tallied two blocks to help the Mountaineers block OSU six times in the second half after having zero blocks in the first. WVU outrebounded OSU 26-17 in the second half.

“They did a really good job of ramping up their physicality and their activity on the defensive end,” Boynton said of West Virginia. “Particularly in the paint, where we had done a lot of our damage in the first half, I thought they were much more active. They went to the bigger lineup because we were going inside.”

They learned and we did not. We now have egg on our face and it feels rotten.
