Fitz

you would take a player that had 0 pts in 15 minutes.

Compared to what we got from pledger and grooms for almost 70 minutes combined ........yes......I would.
Both the srs were horrible defensively especially the second half.
Kruger has really cut his youths min the last few games and oddly enough we can't win a close game.
Our 4 srs have played the bulk of the last 10 minutes of our last few games, and we lately keep coming up short in every close game.

Our srs play scared and they can't finish out games

Pledger actually played really good defense most of the day. Most of our defensive breakdowns were inside, and off rebounds.

Most our break downs where off kick outs when our guards lost their men and chased the ball instead of staying home. They had outside open shots all game, Iowa state just missed the the first half.
Pledger has never played " really good" defense ever , much less today.
He's s spot up shooter when that's not working hes liability at everything else.

Kruger took a team of average at best srs , one stud in osby and handful of promising freshman and had a great year.
I'm very happy about the future but won't miss any of the srs except osby.
As a whole I'm ready for these freshman to step up and be mentally tough , something this group of srs know nothing about ( except one)

Your statement said Fitz gives credit to the job Kruger has done...and I just want to know..what is our best win outside of those 3?

At some point you will realize that your coach completely destroyed our program and cheated while doing so

It's hard to argue with some of you, b/c you clearly don't understand the game.

So I'll just tell you that most of what you wrote above is wrong, and leave it at that.

What does it matter at this point? It should be noted, however, that the wins against ISU, KU and OSU are three more than we had when you complained that the team had no quality wins.

Why not give our kids, and our coach for that matter, credit for what they have accomplished instead of always finding fault?

Your question still makes zero sense. Fitz will dance for the first and only time in his career; it doesn't matter what win is our best or which win outside of the three you mention is the best. The only thing that matters to RO, Fitz, Pledger, Grooms, Cam, Neal, etc is that they will play in the tourney during their careers at OU. I can assure you not a damn one of them gives two ****s what are fourth best win is, so why do you? I can honestly say that in the my entire life I have never concerned myself with what our fourth best win of the season was; particularly when that season ended in an NCAA tournament birth. I am content with ending the first 3 year no NCAA tournament appearance stretch of my lifetime as a Sooner fan. So to actually answer your question, let me sum it up this way: Nobody cares!!

GOD I will be glad when we ALL can move on into the LK era, without it always ending up in a JC vs LK pissing match between the same posters in EVERY thread.

We all know who the JC guys are. We all know who hated him. Hopefully we all are behind LK. Can't we just get past it???? It's messing the board up, IMO, and gets VERY old.

We are on the verge of Dancing, and everyone wants to rehash old stale, outdated Capel vs LK beef.......:facepalm:facepalm

Obviously you have a huge MAN CRUSH on Pledger.....Nice avatar.....but saying he played good defense is sad.....
Please take off that sweat band he threw to you after the baylor game his freshman season quit being such a homer.
Pledger is a spot up shooter nothing more, average at best defender, and when hes not hitting the rest of his game is even worse.

So because a guy is an average defender over the course of the season, he can't EVER play good defense? No for a possession? For a half? For a game?

That doesn't even make sense.

At least we're not argueing about Kelvin anymore! :) Maybe it will take having the next coach after Kruger come in to move on from Capel. I know its hard for me right now when everybody gives credit to Kruger for winning with Pledger and Osby. I'm sure it will get better next year when the roster is almost 100% Kruger's players.

Thats not what Im saying ...you said he played good defensively against Iowa State ...which he didnt....neither did grooms both played horrible. Both bit on penetration and lost THEIR man when the ball was kicked out.
As I said Iowa State was open the whole game (outside) they just missed open shots the first half.
I would have loved to seen more of Buddy the last 10 minutes. His length would have caused some turnovers in those kickouts.

ISU was not open all game. They didn't get many really good looks in the first half at all. And a team that dynamic, with that many scorers, is going to get open looks eventually. Watch an NBA game. Those guys are the best of the best right? They get open shots ALL THE TIME. It's tough to defend 5 guys that can score for an entire game, without giving up open looks eventually. Especially when you are playing against dynamic guards like ISU has. You crowd them, they blow by you. You give them a little space, they shoot jumpers. That is why they beat us.....they had a team full of scorers, and we have what, two or three? When the going got tough, they shut down our two best scoring options, and we couldn't score. That isn't an option against ISU b/c they have an entire roster that can score it.

And Pledger and Grooms aren't the only ones that got beat. I don't remember Pledger getting beat off the dribble, which is the correct way to defend most of the time. You can't give up layups and dunks, you have to make guys shoot it over you.

You are letting your predetermined opinion of Pledger cloud what you actually saw that game. Or what you didn't see, but are going to talk about like you did see it.

Capel gets more credit for placing us square in the crapper than for recruiting Pledger and for hiring an asst coach who could convince Osby to come to Norman.

If you think Iowa state didnt have open looks the first half then you didnt watch the game.

Your telling me about a "predetermined opinion" of pleger when your a homer and even have a pic of him in your avatar.

I'm not shy about knocking Pledger when he doesn't play well.

His defense was pretty solid against ISU, especially in the first half. And it appears as if LK agreed, since Buddy was on the bench late. No?

When pointing out something that they think was good, these Capel defenders remind me of one of my favorite movie lines.

It was Roy Calhoun who said in the movie Pure Country, "You know that white spot on chicken sh*t, well, that is chicken sh*t too."

Also, as much credit as Capel could/should get for recruiting Pledger and Osby, he should also get discredited for leaving Lon a roster with Nick Thompson, Carl Blair, the juco kid from Stringtown, and Tyler Neal.
