For those that go to practice

Buford is an elite athlete...Jamuni is an elite athlete. Not sure there is any separation between the two but certainly not 1,000 miles.

damn so could we be seeing high-flying lob city (the original site for Blake) in the future?

I was asking about DJ Bennett because I think McNeace has to replace his production next season and nothing more. I was hoping he could come in rebound, block shots and occasionally get some garbage points as a redshirt freshman.

I expect McNease to achieve more in his time at OU than DJ has, but Bennett's pretty darned athletic, too.

McNeace is significantly longer and more athletic than Bennett. He might possibly be the best athlete on the team.

Jamuni wont play a lot next year. I think Buford, Manyang, and Lattin eat all those minutes up.

Jamuni can do things Khadeem can't do. He is skinny but the athletic ability is great. No problem replacing DJ's production.

What is Jamunis shot like? Is it good enough for him to stretch the floor a bit? Or is he all around the rim?

He isn't awkward or a brick thrower when away from the basket. But, any offense from him in the near future will likely be put backs and 2/3' jump hooks.

I saw him shoot from the baseline extended in the televised practice sessions from around eight feet or so. While I didn't see him make any, his shot looked good and he seemed to take them with confidence that he could.

Is that a shot he can make and do expect to see him take short range jumpers in addition to the shots from closer in? Is he working on extending his range in practice?

I have only been to a handful of practices this season. Jumuni, like every other redshirt since Osby, stays on the floor while the rest of them go upstairs for film. One of the assistants stays down and the redshirts are put thru drills.

From what I have seen, they are trying to turn Jumuni into a low post scorer. He has made great progress in that respect this season.

Makes sense. The low post is where Jamuni needs to be.

I wish Khadeem would spend more time down low. He's a good passer from the high post. I just don't like to see him taking shots from beyond fifteen feet and in when the results have been less-than-impressive so far.

But since Lattin will mostly be playing the 4 after next year they need him to be able to step out and hit some jumpers. Also with his ball handling and athleticism it would make the defender get up on him where he can go easily by them.

No. Lattin will be more of a "5" than Spangler.
