? for you guys

I told you he's going pro a year ago...

Sounds like he is ready to make some money. Don't see him sticking in the NBA right away, but don't blame him for trying. Coming back for another year doesn't help him.

It really doesn't hurt him either. Sure, it's one less year without drawing a salary, but maybe the 2016 draft is weaker at SG?

I've heard a lot of kids over the years leave early, or transfer, and express that they wish they had stayed. Buddy is, by all appearances, kind of an ideal college student athlete. I really hope he sticks around for his senior year, as I don't think it's something he'd regret.

Agree, he seems to be a model SA that would enjoy four years.

Not that any of these guys are "running the numbers", but their bodies have a shelf life and can only draw income for so long. Running a simple TVM calc shows he should go, and it really isn't close.

Buddy will make a lot of money in Europe when he's done. I don't see him sticking in the NBA. He needs to stay in school.

Buddy is the leading score in the best conference in the nation. If his stock does rise some next year it wouldn't be by much.

Good post excellent read. College prepares us to make it in life giving us the tools to advance our careers. At this time Buddy is at a point where he has prepared by coach K for that next level step. His game has grown, if he is getting first round attention it's a no brainer to head to the pros. Take a look at Wayne Seldens' stock he was a projected first rounder last year and now his virtually fallen off the draft boards.

Whether Buddy stays or goes it a pleasure watching these guys play. I have first hand seen the mistake of not leaving when the iron was hot Al Harrington was drafted in the spot where a good friend of mine should have been Indiana called him and told him come out early we will draft you. His mom a school teacher told him she wanted him to get his degree I beg and pleaded told his mom he could take summer classes to no avail. His senior season he did not get drafted played in Europe for awhile and is now back home working but lives in a bottle of rum and memories of what could have been.

best player on the maybe the best team in the best conference in the country...

We'll see how the schedule plays out...

You are right about if it looks like first round he should go. Guaranteed contract if he has some problems initially.

Pro's LOVE Cousins! Just FYI

I don't see it. Unless somebody wants him as a lock down defender.

His handles are still really bad. And at this point, I don't see them getting better. He'd be a turnover machine in the NBA.

I agree with your assessment of his skills. I see WHY they would be intrigued, but I think those things you mention are hard to overcome.

Just telling you what I hear.... Only 19 NBA scouts in attendance last night...

40% 3 pt shooters and lockdown defenders make a lot of money in the NBA.

One thing I wonder about though. It doesn't really look like, and maybe he's just not taking those shots, Cousins has natural NBA 3 range. Buddy looks like he does. Maybe I'm wrong.

Every Big 12 team sends there best defensive player on Buddy because of his reputation allowing the other players on his team more comfort level on offense. The fact that he can still produce with that bulls-eye on him and play good defense is a major plus. I also like the aspect of his game where he has wide open shots and defers by giving the ball to Cousins for the dunk and the other game against TCU to Spangs good team plays to enforced that chemistry that will be needed to go far on the Big Dance.

It is appearing more than likely Buddy will turn pro after this year.

I've seen multiple people run down cousins ball handling ability, am I missing something? To me he handles the ball pretty well. I think he's got the most complete game of anyone and I do think he gets drafted next year.

I'm with you. He is the best at getting his own shot off and I believe he's our best athlete. 3 and D guys always have a spot in the NBA if they are consistent.

Fair enough. But there are also a lot of college guys that fit that description, that never play a second in the NBA.

We'll see. I have nothing against Cousins, and as was said above, I can see where there would be interest from the NBA, I'm just not sure I see it playing out that way.
