He is a good basketball player. He impressed me today.

Was there talk that he was not truly a D-I level player? If so those people were crazy.

One thing for sure is that you MUST guard him.

That was one of the things said about him when he and Smart were thought to be a package deal. Clearly, those people were wrong.

That is what I thought. He is most definitely a D-I player. He is going to have some serious numbers when he leaves OSU

Forte is turning himself into a possible NBA player at this point. He's virtually impossible to guard right now. It kills me to say this but he looks like a poor man's Steph Curry.

Ou offered him. A lot of folks said it was with smarts offer but ou wanted forte with or without smart.

He passed 1,000 career points today and he's not even halfway through his Junior year, he will finish with at least 1,500 points maybe closer to 2,000

Super, super poor.

Like a homeless crack addict's Steph Curry.

He doesn't get any assists, can't rebound. He's looking more like a poor man's Isaiah Cousins right now.
And he's certainly guardable, and nowhere close to an NBA player.

That's not to say he's not a good player. I just think he would be an excellent 6th man at OU as we are currently constructed. A nice sharpshooter off the bench.

I don't know. I could see him as a three point specialist in the right situation. It will be a long shot for it to happen but he can really shoot.

I agree with this. The no was pretty much for what followed

They were a package in the sense that they always wanted to go to the same school, but yeah, clear they both had legit high-major game.

Oddly enough, I find it difficult to hate Forte in the way a lot of people often hate guys like him (the kid with few physical gifts who seems to stick around forever and by far outplays what you expect him to do at first glance). He's the opposite of a Keiton Page type for some reason.

How does he have few physical tools. Do you mean he is white

Forte is 5'11" without a freakish verticle. That is game over physically 100 out of 100 times. He's averaging 17 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds. His chances of playing in the NBA are the same as DJ Bennett.

Steph Curry is 6'3" with a 35 inch vertical and averaged 29 pts 6 assists and 5 boards his junior year at Davidson.

Forte isn't sniffing the league...saw him a couple weeks ago and I was surprised how short he really is.

Yep.
Like I said, put him on this OU squad, and he's coming off the bench.
Let alone an NBA roster.

Yeah, Forte isn't sniffing the League, but to say that he isn't physically gifted is crazy.

He's very strong for his size and is super quick... he's averaging 2.8 steals per game, which far and away leads the Big 12 and is 8th in the country.

He was compared with Keiton Page early on for obvious reasons (short white shooter), but he's about 100x more athletic than Page ever was and a much more complete player.

He isn't even on the same planet as Steph Curry, and I would argue he isn't anywhere near Jimmer Fredette who is bigger and more athletic and still can't make it in the NBA.

Forte is one of those guys that every college team in America wishes they had. He is a very good college player, someone who fans will remember for a long time, etc. But he isn't a pro.

He is in the same mold as Jake Sullivan from ISU, Clarence Gilbert from Missouri, Cory Higgins from Colorado, Jarius Jackson from Texas Tech, Hollis Price from Oklahoma, Byron Eaton at OSU, Jeff Boschee from Kansas, etc.... Guys that stick around for what seems like forever, have some huge games, score a bunch of points, become a fan favorite, etc but are not pro players.

Forte is a good college basketball player. Nothing more nothing less.
