I haven't compared the number of fouls last year to the same period this year but, I do believe we have cut down on fouling. That will be critical going forward as our starters have played well. Our main problem is the fact that, besides ViVi, our scoring drops off when Sherri goes to the bench. As long as the starters stay out of foul trouble, the bench is okay for a couple of minutes here and there to give starters a breather. But, it is critical for the starters to play the vast majority of the minutes in a close game.

I say, good job controlling silly fouls...keep it up!

I agree. This team has a depth problem. If we get Carter back we will be better but few off the bench have made a significant contribution other than ViVi and Edwards in Washington.

As bad as womens officiating is we are going to get into foul problems and we have few answers outside of the post.

At this time of year the last time we went to the Final Four, we weren't sure who our post would be. We weren't even sure that we had one. We were fighting on the boards as to whether to start the unproven reserve, Olajuwon, or the promising freshman, McFarland. We had a power forward in Amanda and a point in Danielle. But, we were lost as to whom should start at the two guard. We ended up using Hartman, primarily because she, at least, could play defense.

Our reserves were Carlee who was 1 of 10 in the title game, Lauren Willis, a walkon, and Joanna McFarland. We simply had nobody else.

This year, we have two posts that are probably as good as the Abi/Joanna tandem in Kay Kay and Vivi. We have a point in Gabbi and a 4 on Maddie. We are a bit weak at three unless Gioya returns. But, are we weaker than we were with Hartman? Two is solid with Peyton.

Between Shaya, EJ, McKenna, Penzo, Tiny, and LaNesia can we find three that are the equal of Carlee or Willis? It kind of strikes me that we are better off than when we last went to the Final Four, and maybe a lot better off if Gioya returns.

The Tulsa game preview on SoonerSports did the foul stat work for you, Norm!

"• The Sooners have kept teams away from the free throw line early in the season by committing just 140 fouls (17.5 per game) through eight games this year. At this point a year ago, the Sooners had recorded 187 fouls (23.4 per game)."

Excellent! I missed that.
