Good God. We get it, you don't have to post this crap on every thread.

Take my lead and add him to the ignore list. It's been the most enjoyable few days on here since I did it. He's the ONLY one on my ignore list. I don't even mind the guys on here that are being a little over the top, but BOB is unreasonable and disingenuous.

It was bush league on Capels part because he didn't want to lose with only scoring 42 points.

How many times have we seen football teams kick a field goal to prevent the shutout even though they needed a TD to try and get in the game? Same type of deal.

I think most of know that Capel is bush league.

I bet he was trying to get the ball back to score some more because they didnt want to only have 42 points for the entire game. Why else would you foul in that situation?

Actaully if you are trying to win that's the only strategy to have. That was about the time Texas was down 11 at NU on Saturday. Hamilton hit some 3's, the huskers missed there free throws and they cam back and tied the game.

For the situation, it's your only shot.

With nearly two minutes left, I would expect any coach to still try to win the game. Criticizing him for fouling in that situation is a bit of a reach.

I watched a high school game this week where a coach put his JV in down 12 with 1:40 left. Everyone was shocked by it. At that point it's only a couple good possessions away from being a winnable game.

If it gets under a minute and you haven't closed the gap, sure, pull back. But with 1:45 left you don't quit.

This is really freaking dumb. I'm sure Capel really cared whether we only scored 42 points or 44 points or 50 points. It's not like any of those are good totals for the game. I'm sure Capel was on the bench thinking "If we can foul and score a few more points here, it will make this loss less difficult to take and the administration and fanbase will be more kind". Give me a freaking break.


Some of you try so hard to find a reason to bash Capel it's just laughable. Reminds me of Kobe's press conference after the all-star game on Sunday.

Just because your opinion's don't agree with mine doesn't make me a troll. It's funny...on the old board, when I was considered a sunshine pumper because I supported Sampson, I was never considered a troll. So, I guess a troll is someone who either disagrees with you or is not a sunshine pumper?

Maybe I need to come down to your level to understand where you are coming from, but considering the height differential, I don't think that's possible. :ez-laugh:

I haven't insulted any current players. I take that back, in the KSU game thread I inadvertently called Blair a moron after he got the T. In my haste, I didn't say what I intended which was that he did a moronic thing by talking trash during a dead ball. Once you called me out about it, I corrected it and apologized.

I remember going back and forth with SoonerfanTU, Ghost of Bud, and other Kelvin bashers on a regular basis. In fact, I was asked to help them start this board up and was one of the original moderators.

Now, I am on the other side. Either way, I am a realist. Things were good under Kelvin, and I loved watching OU basketball then. The posts reflected that. Now, things suck under Capel and OU basketball is barely watchable. The posts reflect that.

I've never used the words sunshine pumper in my life and I always thought Kelvin was a good coach. But, yeah, sure, I had my criticisms of him over the years. I probably speak for a few others when I say the pathetic state of OU basketball has made me realize we had it even better than I thought under him and, were he to coach here again, I would appeciate the things he did really well (teach defense, effort, have a substitution plan) rather than nitpick the things he did not do so well. I would take Kelvin back in heartbeat.

To answer Booger, hell no I am not happy.
