Future Sooners

Not a future Sooner, but I was impressed with this players stats, she is not listed on hoopgurlz and may be under the radar -
Khadijah Carter 5' 11" P/F Junior
plays for #3 1A Div 11 Goodrich High School (26-6) in Texas
34.6 points per game with more than 1,100 points this season.
70% field goals, 67% 3 pointers, 70% free throws
11.9 rebounds, 2.5 assist, 3.2 blocks, 3.0 steals per game.

Those are very impressive stats for a point guard. Her height at 5'2" will hurt her as far as getting looks for the top D-1 teams.

I think I found an article on a different player with the same name. Not the same as Afan posted.

Interesting, there are two Khadijah Carters. One 5'11 wing from Goodrich TX, and a 5'2 point guard from Delaware. Who'd a thunk. Apparently both are pretty good ball players for their respective schools.

Yeah, the girl from Delaware at 5'2" will not likely play for a top team. The one who is 5'11" would have a much better chance. Those stats will get anyone's attention.

If we had room, I might take a flier on her. Could be another Danielle Gant type of player.

As a 67% three-point shooter, I suspect that she might be the most recruited player in the nation, if she is quick enough to get her shot off in D-1.

The good news is she is a 67% 3 pt shooter. The bad news is she only shot 6 and made 4.

OU hasn't had great success recruiting players from small schools, so I doubt that they'd be interested in anyone from Texas IA unless she was a superstar in club basketball in the summer, where she would play against the nation's best.

Midwest City beat Edmond Memorial in the semi-final game today 52-30. It was Midwest City's 50th. straight win and Kaylon Williams had 10 points.

I was hoping to see Williams score a bunch of points after Richa graduated but it seems that has not been the case.

Dashawn and Kaylon will both be playing for a State Championship saturday as Dashawn's Aquinas team won their semi-final game against Shawnee Heights 51-30.

Dashawn Aquinas team led Shawnee Heights 9-5 after 1 period, 18-13 at the half and 35-23 after 3 periods before winning 51-30.
Dashawn was the MVP of the game leading Aquinas with 21 points hitting 8-15 from the field including 2-3 from 3 point range and 3-3 from the free throw line. She also had a game high 7 steals along with 3 assists.
Aquinas will face #5 Blue Valley in the championship game on saturday at 4:00 P.M. in Topeka Kansas.

Midwest City falls to Edmond Santa Fe 36-56. Kaylon Williams had 7 points, 5 block shots and 11 rebounds as she spent about a quater of the game on the bench in foul trouble. Edmond Santa Fe was 28-31 from the free throw line while Midwest City had only 10 Free Throws, but sloppy plays by the Midwest City also caused numerous turnovers which Santa Fe took advantage of. Santa Fe led after 1 period 12-10, 25-16 at the half, 32-29 after 3 periods.
