Future Sooners

Both of OU's 2012 commits are multi-sport players.

Kamy Cole's exploits in Cross Country, Basketball and Track are viewed on this thread numerous times so I'm going to add some information on Maddie Mannings sports.

Fall - Volleyball
As a junior she had 101 games, 305 kills, 84 kill errors, 662 attack attempts, 0.334 efficiency and 3.02 kills per game.

Winter - Basketball
The 6' 1" junior started in 21-22 games scoring 336 points, averaging 16.0 points per game, shooting 41.1% from the field, 15.9% from 3 point (10-63), 73.5% from the free throw line, had 5.6 rebounds per game, 58 assists, 61 turnovers, 60 steals, 30 blocks and 46 personal fouls.

Spring - Track
She is expected to be one of the top contenders in High Jump as she came in 3rd. at State last season with a 5' 4" mark as a sophmore (she had a 5' 2" mark her freshman season).

Kamy is 6'1"??? I thought she was only 5'9".

In the post I memtioned that both of our 2012 commits are multi-sport stars and since Kamys sports had already been discussed on here, that I was listing Maddie Mannings stats.

It will be interesting to see if Zander is a 4 or a 5 in college. I would love to see her give the upperclassmen a run for a starting job.

If she indeed has the skills that has been written about her, I would guess she would play a 4. With her upper body strength and if she is ready for D-I competition, she would be a nice compliment to Nicole and Whitney on the block.

I have to agree with rj. Everything I have read about her (which is not all that much) points (to me) to her being a 4.

Thanks! I see now. Just saw Kamy's name at the beginning!

Hmmm, 6'6 at center, 6'4 at power forward, maybe another 6'3-6'4 on the wing...

Sounds almost Stanford-like...

If Hardin can pick up the point that makes everything much easier for us next year and we will be pretty solid all over the floor.

But acquiring Inga and Laney would be like getting the twins all over again with even more potential.

Lord we would rock the conference and the nation next year.

I think you're expecting too much - both at point guard and overall. This will still be a VERY young team next year.

Maybe so, but there's nothing wrong with dreaming big like Butler did.

A great group of young women heading to Norman! Looking forward to their play on the court! Thanks for all the info!!!

:clap

I have a feeling that Sharane will remind us of Amanda in her toughness and physical play.

I get that same feeling as you do. She may bring that toughness that all the Sooners can feed off from in practice as well as on the game floor. I am really looking forward to see her as well as our other new comers come October and beyond.

Katherine Zander has been selected to play in the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star game that will held at 5:00 P.M. at Vanguard High School in Ocala, Florida on April 12th.. Listed at 6'4" Zander is the tallest player listed on the roster.
Congradulations to Katherine Zander for being one of twenty two players selected to the All-Star team.:clap

That toughness is something I would like to see more of from all the guys.
