DaShawn Harden named MVP of the All-East Kansas League - http://varsity.kansascity.com/custom/article&news_id=4858
Both of OU's 2012 commits are multi-sport players.
Kamy Cole's exploits in Cross Country, Basketball and Track are viewed on this thread numerous times so I'm going to add some information on Maddie Mannings sports.
Fall - Volleyball
As a junior she had 101 games, 305 kills, 84 kill errors, 662 attack attempts, 0.334 efficiency and 3.02 kills per game.
Winter - Basketball
The 6' 1" junior started in 21-22 games scoring 336 points, averaging 16.0 points per game, shooting 41.1% from the field, 15.9% from 3 point (10-63), 73.5% from the free throw line, had 5.6 rebounds per game, 58 assists, 61 turnovers, 60 steals, 30 blocks and 46 personal fouls.
Spring - Track
She is expected to be one of the top contenders in High Jump as she came in 3rd. at State last season with a 5' 4" mark as a sophmore (she had a 5' 2" mark her freshman season).
Kamy is 6'1"??? I thought she was only 5'9".
It will be interesting to see if Zander is a 4 or a 5 in college. I would love to see her give the upperclassmen a run for a starting job.
In the post I memtioned that both of our 2012 commits are multi-sport stars and since Kamys sports had already been discussed on here, that I was listing Maddie Mannings stats.
Here are the MaxPrep end of season ratings of the high school teams of our future Sooners:
DaShawn Harden's Saint Thomas Aquinas team finished 25-0, ranked #39 in the U.S., #1 in Kansas and #1 in 5A.
Kaylon Williams Midwest City team finished 27-1, ranked #62 in the U.S., #2 in Oklahoma and #2 in 6A.
Kamy Cole's Brock team finished 29-5, ranked #171 in the U.S., #19 in Texas and #1 in 2A.
Sharane Campbell's Star Spencer team finished 18-10, #2,206 in the U.S., #54 in Oklahoma, #11 in 4A.
Katherine Zander's Orange Park team finished 19-7, #2,933 in the U.S., #72 in Florida and #19 in 6A.
Maddie Manning was selected to the 2nd. team All-State (all the 1st. team selections were all seniors) and all the other Future Sooners were selected to the 1st. team All-State in their class.:clap
I have a feeling that Sharane will remind us of Amanda in her toughness and physical play.
I get that same feeling as you do. She may bring that toughness that all the Sooners can feed off from in practice as well as on the game floor. I am really looking forward to see her as well as our other new comers come October and beyond.
