Future Sooners

What I love about that photo is Kamy looks like she could run another 1600, while the other two young ladies look to be pretty well exhausted.

I'm sure with her athleticism, she'll have no problem giving 110% for the full 40 minutes every game! She must have great stamina to run the 1600 for sure!

The speed if the last fifty meters indicates that Kamy needs someone to push her. He had way too much left.

Yea, you're probably right. She does, but what it really indicates is she hates to lose!

I agree with you. I am not sure she had that much left in her tank in the last 100 meters but her strong will to win kicked in and prevented a loss. That kind of attitude is badly needed for athletes and I think will serve her well at OU.

First, I really appreciate the constant flow of information about OU recruits. Secondly, what comes after a hat trick?

Kamy Coles AAU team the Cy-Fair Hensle played at Premier Basketball Reports', Gary Blevins Memorial Weekend Classic Tournament held in Frisco, Tx. and her team finished with a 4-1 record.
On friday her team beat Team Oklahoma Rage 79-21 and Kamy led all scorers with 14 points.
On saturday her team beat the 360 Stars North 58-29. Later the same day her team beat the North Texas Shockers 2013 National 55-35.
Sunday they beat the Texas Fire Black team 61-43 winning their bracket.
Monday the Cy-Fair Hensle team lost in the championships to the Alexis Jones led Texas Express.
Kamy plans to be at the Elite Camp at OU weekend after next.

OU signee's Sharane Campbell and Kaylon Williams are at the OGBCA All-State games in Weatherford, OK. today and saturday. Kaylon will be playing in the Large school game at 2:30 on saturday then Sharane Campbell will be playing in the Middle school game at 4:00.

Reading the story on Zander immediately above, I'm glad to hear that KZ has good defensive skills and works on it. We needed some more of that last year.

Zander's workout routine is amazing for a high school player. If she continues to work hard on conditioning as well as skills at OU (which I believe she will), it will pay off on the court.

Maddie Manning not only plays basketball, but she also participates in track & field and volleyball. So when she finishes her AAU basketball this summer it will be on to volleyball again.
Last season in volleyball and in basketball only seniors were picked to the 1st. team All-State so Manning had to settle for 2nd. team All-State. She was one of only 2 juniors to make the 2nd. team and there was only one junior on the 3rd. team so Maddie should have an excellant chance of being 1st. team All-State in volleyball this coming season. http://www.ighsau.org/volleyball/2010/4aastate.pdf

That's great! Love the multi-sport athletes! Maybe she'll join the volleyball team at OU after her basketball eligibility expires, just like Carlee!

Mannings AAU team the Kingdom Hoops Elite are back in action this weekend.
Today they play NE CSS-Bison at 5:50 P.M. at the West Towne Courts in Ames, Iowa.
Saturday they take on Team IA Royal at 4:40 at the ISU practice facility.
Then they take on the AIA-Mauroll 11th. team at 9:20 P.M. at the West Towne Couts.
On Sunday they start out playing NW Iowa Stars 17U Blue at 10:50 A.M. at the ISU practice facility.
Then at 2:20 they take on WI Hoops Select-Staples at Towne West Courts.
The Championship rounds begin at 4:40 and 5:50 P.M. at the Towne West Courts.

Turns out Manning is not with her AAU team playing in the tournament at Ames, but she decided to go to the T.O.P. Camp at OU instead.
Kamy Cole was there as well. We visited with her mom Kay and got to see all of our current team members as well as past players (Courtney, Ashley, Abi, Amanda and Carlee). Some changes we noticed Courtney and Cerina looked like they had lost some weight, but Whitney and Joanna looked they had lost the most weight. Whitney whom did not seem to have any problem at the camp earlier in the week now had a wrap on her knee during the afternoon session and seemed to be limping around, then in the evening her knee was unwrapped, but her ankle was wrapped up this time?

Others I saw at the T.O.P. camp saturday in addition to those mentioned in the previous post include Jamee Swan, 6' 3" Brianna Turner ( some are saying she will be the #1 prospect for 2014 and compare her talents to Candice Parker and Maya Moore) she played for Westbury Christian in Texas as a freshman last season, but may be going to Manvel next season (Manvel is a 4A school just south of Houston). From what I saw of Turner saturday her hype is well deserved.
Also saw a player I heard was on one of the DFW AAU teams that appeared to be about 6'6". I didn't hear her name, but she could have been Teaira McCowan a 2015 prospect. Another player from the Tulsa area reminded me of Andrea Riley.
Also got my first look at our new coach Pam DeCosta and I was impressed with the way she taught basketball skills, related to players and Kay (Cole) said she thought DeCosta was going to be a good recruiter and I agree.
Overall I saw many very good players at the camp from the past and current OU teams along with plenty of good prospects. The only negetive was Whitney limping, but maybe it wasn't too serious since she was walking on it, hopefully she will be back to normal by next weekends team camps.
