Just for the heck of it I decided to research the attendance numbers for the BCS conferences, and here is what I've compiled...

Code:
[FONT="Courier New"][SIZE="2"]----------  -----  -----  -------  ----   ------    -------  -------
Conference Games Teams Attend Sess Attend Total Average
---------- ----- ----- ------- ---- ------ ------- -------
Pac-12 181 12 333,783 6 26,465 360,248 1,926
ACC 189 12 443,870 7 51,305 495,175 2,526
Big East 225 15 660,375 7 42,616 702,981 3,030
SEC 223 14 787,036 7 29,497 816,533 3,550
Big Ten 191 12 746,770 6 746,770 3,910
Big 12 159 10 777,738 5 26,521 812,921 4,957
---------- ----- ----- ------- ---- ------ ------- -------[/SIZE][/FONT]

Notes:
Numbers are those that have been supplied by the respective conferences. They are
not confirmed and thus may not exactly match the actual final numbers which are
reported to the NCAA. Of course, the creator of this document occasionally
makes mistakes. I cannot guarantee 100% accuracy of my work. Attendance is
sorted by average attendance rank among the BCS conferences. The averages are
for home games plus tournament sessions.

Please note the following:

The attendance number for the first game of the ACC tournament is highly suspect.
I believe that the unusually high attendance number (for a game between the 12
and 13 seeds) "may" have been influenced by a high-profile men’s game, that "may"
have been packaged with the tournament ticket purchase. More research is needed.

For whatever reason, the Big Ten Conference (hereafter known as the Blue Sky
Conference) has decided to keep the attendance of their tournament games secret.
It must be hush-hush for special secret reasons. The truth may eventually reveal
itself, after the info has been declassified.

The Big East Conference has attendance remaining to be reported for the two
sessions that haven’t been held yet. All numbers will be updated when reported.

Header abbreviations: "Attend" for game or session attendance; "Total" for
combined attendance of all home games and tournament sessions.

The Big 12 will still lead the nation in average attendance by a wide margin, for what I believe is the 13th straight season, or maybe the 14th...

I didn't get to see the very first game of the tournament on Friday night, so i might be wrong... but did switching the tournament to a Friday thru Monday mean that the school kids didn't get to attend like they used to?
