In order to provide its fans with the safest venue environment, OU Athletics will be implementing additional security measures at events at Lloyd Noble Center beginning with the 2017-18 sports seasons. Security measures include metal detection technology and will be in effect beginning Nov. 3 when the women's basketball team hosts an exhibition against Central Oklahoma.
Fans are encouraged to #ArriveSooner to the gates to avoid delays in entry to the building. New walkthrough metal detectors, known as magnetometers will be in place at each entry of Lloyd Noble Center.
Fans will be asked to remove cell phones, cameras and keys prior to passing through the metal detectors. Fans are NOT required to remove belts or shoes or other small items such as coins or jewelry/watches. If metal is detected, fans will be required to go through a secondary screening with a wand so other fans can continue to move through the metal detector.
Fans are asked to follow all instructions of uniformed event personnel. All purses of a reasonable size and bags containing medical equipment will be searched at gates and tagged prior to entry into the arena.
