This can be a very good team, especially if we improve defensively.

I think we will be hard to stop on offense given the number of scorers and versatility.

I sure hope so. It’s hard not to be excited. But I think I have PTSD from three or four straight years of early promise that fades quickly in conference play. And I think if we were to go back and pull up the game thread from the opener two years ago, we would see a lot of very similar comments about how athletic and deep that team was.

yes but preseason or not beating tech and wisconsin in back to back weeks .. is pretty massive

this is the first time in a long time we have 2 centers who look like they belong on the floor with another p4 team.....athletically.
unfortunately neither will likely contribute a great deal in the scoring column.
but if they can at least play solid defense and stay out of foul trouble.....we'll be fine.
we have lots of others who will fill up the scoring column..

edit: i couldn't believe my eyes when rogers got 3 blocks in 5 seconds and didn't foul

It’s very encouraging, no doubt. But that team two years ago won their early season tourney by beating teams that everyone thought would be very good, and last year’s team had an even more impressive run through a high quality tourney. I’m hopeful. It’s very nice knowing we won’t have to rely on guys like Sam, Elvis, Duke, and Goodine. Those guys just weren’t on the same level athletically as the people they played against in the SEC. We won’t be the most athletic team in the league, but we shouldn’t be completely outmanned most nights. That alone is a great step.

Good 3 shooting (I like that we had less 3 attempts than wisky showing we arent too obsessed, but maybe we shouldn't have bc thats not how the game is anymore)

I would think he's at least better or at the same level as Taylor last year. But if Davis and Reid are at Moore's level that alone makes OU way better.

Boom Soon, Nwankwo was moving well. Rusty offensively, but I would say he was one of the more athletic dudes on the floor last night.

I think he can be a great defender.

I am a little worried about tae Davis. I did not see what I expected on either end.
